The Role

What you will do

Maintain and Troubleshoot

• Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of IBM MQ for z/OS environments.

• Monitor and maintain Queue Managers, transmission queues, channels, listeners, and shared queue configurations.

• Diagnose and resolve complex production incidents impacting messaging services and application integrations.

• Perform proactive health checks and capacity analysis to identify and mitigate potential risks.

• Support disaster recovery testing and business continuity initiatives.

• Maintain system integrity by ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.

Manage and Improve

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade IBM MQ components within Mainframe environments.

• Support infrastructure modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to optimize messaging solutions and system performance.

• Participate in planning and implementing new MQ features, enhancements, and operational processes.

• Contribute to automation efforts that improve efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.

Lead Problem Resolution

• Lead technical investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for significant incidents.

• Provide expert guidance during critical production situations.

• Document findings, corrective actions, and long-term preventive measures.

• Identify recurring issues and recommend strategic improvements.

Inform and Influence

• Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise on IBM MQ for z/OS technologies.

• Advise stakeholders on messaging architecture, operational best practices, and infrastructure strategies.

• Collaborate with global teams across multiple regions and disciplines.

• Support knowledge sharing, mentoring, and technical development within the organization.
