The facilitator will deliver live, synchronous instruction and provide asynchronous course content aligned with A-G guidelines for high school students. They are responsible for monitoring student progress, grading assignments, and maintaining regular communication with families to support individualized learning.

THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW)
Reporting to the School Directors and High School Coordinator, the Live High School Facilitator is an innovator in the education field that inspires and supports the educational needs of high school independent study families assigned to them by facilitating an engaging and highly individualized education. As a point of contact and representative of the iLEAD independent study program, the Live High School EF provides academic and operational support to the parents and learners.
WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
Deliver live, synchronous instruction twice weekly per live section via the designated virtual platform
Provide asynchronous instruction aligned with course standards and A-G guidelines, as applicable
Develop and organize comprehensive course plans and lesson sequences that meet graduation requirements
Monitor and record attendance and participation in live classes
Integrate assessments, exams, and rubrics to measure learner growth and achievement outcomes
Proctor required district and state testing, as applicable
Evaluate work samples and provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments
Award semester grades and progress reports in accordance with school policies
Provide weekly office hours to support learners with assignments and skill development
Schedule additional communication or meetings to address learner needs via phone, email, virtual, or in-person contact, as appropriate
Respond to parent inquiries and concerns within one business day
Ensure that all learner needs are met and, if needed, meet with team members (EF, ES, Coordinators, Leads, etc.) for further support.
Engage in ongoing professional development to deepen content knowledge, instructional expertise in project-based learning, and understanding of independent study models
Demonstrate knowledge of high school graduation requirements and participate in relevant professional development
Maintain current teaching credentials and comply with California school law, State Board of Education regulations, and iLEAD policies and procedures
Attend all required meetings, including Engage team meetings, all-staff meetings, professional development sessions, and trainings
Attend and assist in planning field studies, park days, info meetings, webinars, and conventions as needed.
Seek and provide support from colleagues on an ongoing basis.
Work collaboratively with all team members, including High School, Student Support, Engage staff, EFs, leadership team, Director(s), and other iLEAD employees.
Meet all program deadlines for course setup, grading, Assignment Work Records (AWRs), progress reports, and semester grades
Serve as a positive, confident representative of iLEAD when interacting with parents, learners, and community partners
Navigate challenging situations with parents, learners, and community providers professionally while maintaining proper documentation
Protect the confidentiality of student records and information; exercise discretion in sharing information within legal parameters
Support all policies and procedures established for virtual learning
Complete data collection and reporting tasks as required for WASC accreditation, charter renewal, and educational agencies
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person/Telephone/Computer)
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites.
Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
May encounter outdoor elements: high (>90)/low (<60) temperatures, precipitation and/or wind.
Ability to work in situations involving the need to make informed and quick decisions.
Ability to supervise/manage workers and delegate as needed in project management situations.
Reading detailed documentation and analyzing data sets.
Writing professionally, both by hand and utilizing computer software.
Speaking in public settings including making public presentations to large and small groups.
Dealing and navigating professionally through high-stress situations.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING (QUALIFICATIONS)
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Single Subject Credential
ELL Authorization - CLAD required, BCLAD desirable
Demonstrate proficiency in technology skills with the ability to learn and use online platforms, systems and software to support learning and record keeping.
Previous experience with homeschool or independent study programs preferred.
Demonstrate ability to perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrate standards of moral character and maintain a professional demeanor to serve as an effective role model for learners.
Exercise mature judgment in working with confidential information.
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Work independently, be a self starter, problem solve and multi-task.
Establish and maintain friendly, cooperative and effective working relationships with all learners, families and staff.
Exhibit an enthusiasm for learning and the belief that each learner can and will succeed.
Understand, recommend and support a variety of learning styles, philosophies, and approaches to better support the homeschool endeavor.
Ability to align and assign curriculum and activities with standards and to adopt grading practices that can be used authentically assess a learner’s progress.
Willingness to be involved on teams and committees to support the school’s mission and vision.
Belief in the iLEAD California mission and a willingness to work as a vital part of the iLEAD team to ensure excellence in learning opportunities and contribute to the iLEAD California community as a whole.
