Summary:

We are currently seeking a new Legal Content Analyst to join our CalendarRules team. This role is available to candidates in the US Remote.

What your team does: 

CalendarRules helps legal professionals stay on top of critical deadlines while navigating increasingly complex court rules and systems. Acquired by Clio in 2021, CalendarRules offers a legal calendaring database that thousands of active subscribers use to run millions of date calculations each month. Our automated deadlines help our users save time and reduce errors, providing legal technology that law firms rely on to run efficient and seamless practices in the best interests of their clients. CalendarRules currently provides rule sets for state and federal courts in the United States and Canada. We regularly build new rule sets and our team is growing.

You are comfortable addressing groups of professionals and can break problems and processes into understandable chunks.  You have a problem-solver mentality and enjoy digging into complex issues. What you’ll work on:

  • Build and maintain rule sets by researching and analyzing applicable state, federal, and agency statutes, rules, local rules, and standing orders, and translating legal requirements into structured triggers, deadlines, and calculation logic for use in calendaring software.

  • Manage rule updates by monitoring amendments and other legal developments, determining their impact on existing content, implementing necessary rule set changes, and drafting clear update notes.

  • Provide customer support through email, Zoom, and other communication channels by investigating rules-related questions and calculation results, explaining applicable calendaring logic, and escalating complex issues as needed.

  • Deliver customer and partner training on litigation calendaring protocols and legal content, including "train the trainer" programs for integration partners.

  • Conduct rule set audits and peer reviews to ensure legal accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance with established content standards.

  • Develop and deliver presentations and written content, such as newsletter articles, on legal content and litigation calendaring topics, including participation in customer trainings, conferences, and webinars.

  • Exercises sound legal judgment when faced with ambiguous, conflicting, or interrelated procedural authorities, including determining when a requirement can appropriately be translated into automated calendaring logic.

  • Makes day-to-day decisions regarding rule set structure, triggers, deadlines, and calculation logic within established standards, protocols, and precedent.

  • Independently researches and resolves routine customer questions involving rules and calculation results, escalating novel, high-risk, or complex issues as appropriate.

  • Identifies potential content gaps, conflicts, and calculation risks and recommends appropriate resolutions.

  • Operates with moderate autonomy while seeking guidance on high-impact, complicated, or novel analyses.

What you bring:

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States 

  • 3+ years litigation experience

  • Knowledge of how to find and calculate legal deadlines 

  • Familiarity with the U.S. legal system

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate state and federal statutes, procedural rules, local rules, agency rules, and standing orders.

  • Adept at translating complex legal requirements into clear, standardized, structured content suitable for automated litigation calendaring.

  • Able to apply procedural knowledge to draft precise triggers, deadlines, and calculation logic, including service methods, time-computation rules, court holidays, and related procedural requirements.

  • Proficient in monitoring rule changes across jurisdictions, assessing their impact on existing content, and implementing accurate and timely revisions.

  • Strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to explain complex procedures clearly to both legal and non-legal audiences.

  • Exceptional attention to detail when building, auditing, and peer-reviewing rule sets for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with content standards.

  • Comfortable and proficient with AI and emerging technologies, using them to support legal research, analysis, customer support, and workflow efficiency while independently evaluating outputs and applying legal judgment to ensure accuracy and quality.

The expected salary range for this role is $93,800 to $127,000 USD. Initial placement within the range is informed by geographic region, experience, and skillset, with room to progress as impact and tenure grow. Final offer amounts will vary based on candidate profile.
