Lead connectivity projects for leased data centers from site assessment through operational handoff, managing scope, schedule, budget, and risks. Coordinate facility owners, carriers, and internal teams to design, inspect, and deliver compliant fiber and cabling infrastructure, while improving standards and reporting.
Meta is seeking a Lease Connectivity Engineer to support the development and delivery of network connectivity infrastructure across Meta's leased data center portfolio. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical and project owner responsible for ensuring that leased colocation and third-party data center facilities meet Meta's connectivity standards from site selection through production turnover. You will work at the intersection of real estate, network engineering, and construction to evaluate, design, and deliver the physical and logical connectivity solutions that underpin Meta's global infrastructure at scale.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end connectivity project delivery for leased data center sites, managing scope, schedule, and budget from initial site assessment through operational handoff
Evaluate prospective leased facilities for connectivity feasibility, including fiber entry points, carrier diversity, meet-me room capacity, and compliance with Meta's network infrastructure standards
Coordinate with landlords, colocation providers, and carriers to negotiate and execute connectivity agreements, ensuring alignment with Meta's technical and operational requirements
Develop and maintain detailed project plans for outside plant and inside plant connectivity deployments at leased sites, tracking milestones and communicating risks to cross-functional stakeholders
Serve as the technical point of contact for structured cabling, fiber optic infrastructure, and carrier interconnection activities at leased facilities, including scope clarification and design review
Conduct site inspections and quality assurance reviews to validate that physical connectivity installations meet Meta's specifications, local code requirements, and industry standards
Partner with network engineering, real estate, and construction teams to resolve in-field design gaps, manage change order requests, and ensure accurate as-built documentation
Track and report project progress, budget forecasts, and risk status to internal stakeholders and leadership, ensuring timely escalation of issues that may impact site readiness
Collaborate with logistics, vendor, and supplier partners to coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules that support on-time connectivity activation at leased sites
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of connectivity standards, installation procedures, and lessons-learned documentation applicable across the leased data center portfolio
Travel - Position is remote and will require a minimum of 50% travel
Minimum Qualifications
6+ years of experience in connectivity engineering, telecommunications infrastructure, or data center project management within leased or colocation environments
Experience evaluating and delivering fiber optic and structured cabling infrastructure, including outside plant and inside plant deployments
Experience coordinating with carriers, colocation providers, or landlords to deliver network connectivity solutions in mission-critical facilities
Experience managing cross-functional projects involving real estate, network engineering, and construction stakeholders from initiation through operational turnover
Experience with fiber optic testing methodologies, including OTDR and OLTS, and interpreting test results to validate installation quality
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with data center infrastructure standards such as TIA-942, BICSI, or equivalent frameworks as applied to colocation and leased facility environments
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize project workflows, improve reporting accuracy, or drive measurable efficiency gains in infrastructure delivery
Experience using project management or scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project to manage complex, multi-site connectivity programs
Experience with carrier interconnection processes, including dark fiber procurement, meet-me room coordination, and diverse entry path validation at leased data center sites
