The AI Learning Design Lead designs and advances learning pathways that build role-based AI skills and support application on the job. You will translate capability needs into practical learning experiences, guides design work across assigned initiatives, and helps ensure solutions are consistent, engaging, and measurable. You will work closely with the Senior Learning Design Professional, business partners, subject matter experts, and the broader Enterprise Learning - AI Team.
This role is part of the Variable Staffing Pool (VSP), which pays at an hourly rate. VSP Humana associates work part to full time hours based on business need. VSPs are not eligible for associate bonuses and receive limited benefits, which are effective upon hire. The hours for this role are generally aligned based on the associate and business task at hand.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design learning pathways. Translate skill and performance needs into clear objectives, sequenced learning journeys, practice opportunities, assessments, and performance support.
- Lead learning design. Guide the design and development of digital, live, virtual, cohort-based, and experiential learning for assigned AI skilling initiatives.
- Create and curate solutions. Develop, adapt, and organize internal and external content into cohesive, role-relevant learning experiences.
- Apply design standards. Use adult learning, performance consulting, assessment, and responsible AI practices to ensure quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with partners. Work with assigned business partners, AI product teams, subject matter experts, facilitators, vendors, and learning colleagues to identify needs, validate content, and support delivery.
- Coordinate assigned work. Manage design activities, timelines, reviews, dependencies, and risks across assigned projects and recommend practical solutions when priorities change.
- Measure and improve. Define measurement strategies and use learner feedback, assessment results, proficiency indicators, performance data and other defined measurement strategies to improve pathways and learning experiences.
- Support scale. Create reusable templates, standards, and approaches that improve speed, consistency, and quality of learning design.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in instructional design, learning design, adult education, learning technologies, organizational development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing learning solutions.
- Experience translating skill, business, or performance needs into measurable objectives and sequenced learning experiences.
- Experience supporting AI, emerging technology, digital transformation, or technical-skilling initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning, performance consulting, accessibility, assessment, and learning evaluation.
- Experience using generative AI and AI-enabled learning tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, or comparable AI-enabled learning platforms for learning design, development, or learner support.
- Demonstrated ability to guide design work, collaborate across functions, manage multiple projects, and influence without direct authority.
- Strong consulting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience designing academies, credentials, cohorts, or large-scale technical learning pathways.
- Experience with skills frameworks, proficiency models, learning-experience platforms, or skills-based talent practices.
- Experience with Cornerstone OnDemand or a similar learning platform.
- Experience in health care, insurance, information technology, or another regulated environment.
- Relevant certification in instructional design, performance improvement, or learning evaluation.
- Experience designing across digital, live, virtual, cohort-based, experiential, and performance-support formats.
- Experience designing and developing learning solutions, including curricula or learning pathways for Tech and enterprise audiences.
Additional Information
- This position may require up to 10% travel.
Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$94,900 - $130,500 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
