As a Lead Technical Product Manager within Optum Technology, you will drive product strategy, backlog management, and technical feature execution supporting UHC HEDIS® Retrospective and Prospective projects. This program is a strategic quality platform that transforms clinical and administrative data into actionable insights, enabling healthcare organizations to proactively improve member outcomes, close care gaps, and deliver accurate, compliant quality reporting that supports accreditation, regulatory requirements, and STAR performance. In this full-time telecommuter role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, architecture, and business teams to deliver scalable quality technology solutions and optimize platform capabilities.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Experience with HEDIS® specifications and NCQA requirements
  • Own and execute technical product features, user stories, and multi-quarter release roadmaps for UHC HEDIS® Retrospective and Prospective quality platform solutions
  • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily agile ceremonies alongside engineering and system architecture teams
  • Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement across product management practices
  • Partner with clinical data analysts, software engineers, and healthcare operations stakeholders to translate complex clinical data requirements into clear technical specifications
  • Establish and monitor product performance metrics (KPIs) to track platform adoption, feature reliability, and data processing efficiency for STAR quality reporting
  • Manage product risks, resolve operational bottlenecks, and evaluate emerging trends to inform solution design and strategic innovation
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication and change management across UnitedHealthcare and Optum Technology teams to ensure seamless platform deployments

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent product or business operations experience
  • 6+ years of experience in technical product management, technical program management, systems analysis or technical business operations
  • 4+ years of experience defining technical product roadmaps, writing user stories, and prioritizing backlogs in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • 3+ years of experience leveraging data analytics and performance metrics (KPIs/OKRs) to drive product strategy and feature delivery
  • Experience with HEDIS® specifications and NCQA requirements


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Product Owner (CPO), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification
  • 2+ years of experience with HEDIS® measures, STAR ratings, or healthcare quality reporting platforms
  • Experience utilizing enterprise-approved AI or digital productivity tools to optimize backlog grooming, requirements writing, or workflow automation
  • Experience working with clinical data sets, electronic health records (EHR), or healthcare claims data
  • Demonstrated experience presenting product features and technical roadmaps to cross-functional stakeholders


Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
