Job Description:

The Material Program Management (MPM) Lead serves as a key Supply Chain/Material Management (SC/MM) representative supporting assigned programs and is responsible for driving material strategy and execution in support of program cost, schedule, production, and customer commitments.

The MPM Lead works closely with Program Management, Procurement, Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance/Business Management, Supplier Management, and other Supply Chain functions to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the program’s material position and proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact program execution.

This role requires a strong combination of supply chain knowledge, program management skills, financial acumen, analytical capability, and cross-functional leadership. The MPM Lead is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, lead complex material initiatives, provide guidance to other MPMs, and translate detailed material information into clear program impacts, priorities, and actions.

The MPM Lead reports to the MPM Manager and may serve as the lead MPM for a major program, product line, or complex portfolio of projects.

Essential Functions:

• Serve as a primary Supply Chain/Material Management interface for assigned programs, partnering with Program Management and cross-functional organizations to execute program material requirements.

• Own and maintain the overall material position for assigned program scope, including material on hand, open purchase orders, purchase requisitions, unplaced demand, shortages, quality/inspection constraints, supplier recovery actions, and future material requirements.

• Lead material readiness and Line of Balance (LOB) activities to determine whether material availability supports planned production and delivery schedules and identify materials at risk of not meeting program need dates.

• Proactively identify material risks, opportunities, and constraints and drive cross-functional teams to establish root cause, program impact, mitigation/recovery plans, action owners, and required completion dates.

• Own the material forecasting process for assigned program scope, including monthly forecast development, identification of key material cost and schedule drivers, risks and opportunities, variance analysis, and execution of corrective actions to improve forecast accuracy.

• Support program financial activities including Estimates at Completion (EACs), material budgets, forecast-to-go activities, variance analysis, and long-range material planning.

• Support Supply Chain activities associated with development and production proposals, including material estimates, supplier strategies, schedule requirements, risks and opportunities, and affordability initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain, Material Management, Program Management, Procurement, Planning, Operations, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain Management, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), production planning, procurement, inventory management, and supplier management.

• Experience with material forecasting, EACs, financial planning, variance analysis, and risk and opportunity management.
• Experience developing or utilizing Line of Balance, material-readiness, shortage-management, or similar tools to evaluate production readiness.
• Understanding of development and production program lifecycles, including design, build, test, qualification, production ramp, and full-rate production.
• Working knowledge of project and program management principles including program planning, Integrated Master Scheduling, budgeting, and Earned Value Management.
• Experience supporting government or defense programs and familiarity with the defense acquisition environment.
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative, attention to detail, accountability, and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $100,500.00 - $186,500.00. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $87,500.00 - $162,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
