RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Initiative

• Proactively identifies opportunities for product and process improvement across team.
 • Partners closely with Product, Design, and Leadership to translate strategy into executable technical plans.
 • Leads technical scoping and decision-making for complex, cross-team projects.
 • Acts as a trusted advisor to Senior Engineers and contributes to the long-term technical roadmap.

Communication

• Communicates complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
 • Builds strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring alignment between engineering, product, and business goals.
 • Represents engineering in discussions with senior leadership and external partners when required.
 • Mentors engineers at multiple levels, providing clear feedback and fostering professional growth.

Impact

• Owns the end-to-end delivery of key product initiatives that move critical business metrics.
 • Balances innovation with pragmatic execution — delivering scalable, maintainable, and performant solutions.
 • Drives adoption of engineering best practices across teams (architecture, testing, observability, DevOps).
 • Ensures technical decisions align with broader business and platform strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7-10 years of professional software engineering experience, including experience as a Senior Engineer or equivalent.
 • Proven ability to lead complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
 • Deep knowledge of modern engineering practices, architecture design, and product development lifecycles.
 • Strong communication and influencing skills across technical and business domains.
 • Passion for mentorship, continuous learning, and improving team effectiveness.

Success Indicators

• Leads multiple successful cross-team or high-visibility initiatives.
 • Demonstrates consistent technical leadership recognized across the organization.
 • Improves team velocity, quality, and developer experience through tooling or process innovation.
 • Acts as a role model for ABC Fitness’s engineering culture and values.
