About the Role

As a Lead Direct Marketing Strategist, you will serve as the strategic and operational leader of Scorpion's Direct Marketing Services (DMS) function. You will set the direction for multi-channel campaign strategy, establish team standards, and develop the capabilities of the Direct Marketing Strategists who report directly to you. In addition to driving client outcomes through expert guidance and data-informed decision-making, you will manage and coordinate our offshore DMS team members to ensure consistent execution and quality across all client deliverables.

This role sits at the intersection of strategic leadership, hands-on marketing expertise, and people development. You will be accountable for your team's performance, the health of client relationships, and the continuous improvement of DMS processes and outcomes.

What Your Success Will Look Like

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Directly manage a team of Direct Marketing Strategists, providing coaching, performance feedback, and day-to-day direction to support their growth and success.
    • Lead, coordinate, and provide structured direction to offshore DMS team members, ensuring alignment with quality standards, campaign timelines, and client objectives.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the DMS team.
    • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex client situations, campaign issues, and cross-functional challenges.
    • Partner with leadership to define team goals, contribute to hiring decisions, and help shape the long-term structure and capabilities of the DMS function.
  • Strategy & Campaign Excellence
    • Own the strategic vision for multi-channel direct marketing campaigns (email, SMS, direct mail) across the DMS client portfolio, setting best practices and optimization frameworks for the team to execute against.
    • Lead the development and refinement of A/B testing roadmaps, segmentation strategies, audience-building methodologies, and lifecycle marketing frameworks.
    • Partner with internal creative, technical, and client-facing teams to guide messaging, targeting, and campaign architecture that aligns with client objectives.
    • Define and maintain campaign standards across deliverability, compliance, design, and copy to ensure consistency and quality at scale.
    • Build and maintain advanced audiences within ServiceTitan and develop deep expertise in ServiceTitan Marketing Pro to support complex client and team needs.
  • Performance & Insights
    • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics (open rates, CTR, conversions, unsubscribes, deliverability) across the team's portfolio, identifying trends and driving data-informed improvements.
    • Provide timely, accurate reporting and strategic insights to leadership on team performance, client health, and campaign outcomes.
    • Use internal data, external research, and competitive benchmarking to identify opportunities that enhance campaign effectiveness and the overall client experience.
    • Maintain oversight of 3rd-party tool workflows to ensure accurate tracking of onboarding and ongoing client work across the team.
  • Client Engagement
    • Serve as a senior strategic partner for key or complex client relationships, supporting Direct Marketing Strategists in delivering exceptional client experiences.
    • Guide the team in proactive client engagement practices—sharing insights, fostering adoption, and ensuring clients are consistently realizing ROI from DMS services.
    • Review and provide quality assurance on campaign content, including editing and proofreading, to ensure accuracy and message alignment across client deliverables.
