Junior Software Developer
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a motivated Junior Software Developer to join our internal product development team. This role is ideal for early‑career engineers who want to build real systems, work with modern technologies, and grow within a mission‑focused organization supporting national security customers.
- You will work alongside senior engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain internal software products that support Valkyrie’s operational and enterprise needs.

Job Description:
- Develop and maintain backend services and internal applications.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
- Support integration, testing, and deployment of internal products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Work within secure development practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience.
- Must be proficient in Go, Java, or Python.
- Must have understanding of modern software development practices and version control.
- Must have the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Must have strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ReactJS or other modern frontend frameworks, preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.), preferred.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it.
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal Travel; 10% or less
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
- Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
