Junior 3D Technical artist

We are intensively looking for pro-active Junior 3D Technical Artist to join TechSim team. The candidate will work on market lead product TechSim that actively in use for seafarers’ education in thousands maritime academies around the globe. The reason of hiring is active business and development team grow. 

You will work in Scrum team on complex distributed system with tasks in many different domains from visual system to hardware integrations. The team believes in incremental delivery and work in close collaboration with customers. 

This is a permanent role, the location is Turku, Finland.

Company-wide communications are in English. We strive to use only English for written technical communication. 

Responsibilities: 

• Improve & organize the pipeline for the TechSim simulator visualization in Unreal Engine 
• Prototyping model & level design in Unreal Engine 
• Understanding the design requirements for the visual aspects of the simulations and translating the visualization ideas into the scene with related components - including mesh quality optimizations, materials, scene & level design. 
• Collaborating with a global team and managing asset workflows. 
• Working closely with the C++ developers, math modelers and experts on the team 
• Staying updated on the latest technologies and trends in real-time 3D visualizations. 
• Guiding third-party 3D modelers on best practices when using Unreal Engine. 
• Support the internal product for the prototype/scene creation. 
• Working as a member of the product team with the backlog, production & support 

Required qualifications: 

• Experience with real-time visualization techniques & game engine 
• Experience with ray-traced scene properties and optimizations in Unreal Engine. 
• Proficiency with at least one 3D modelling tool (3DsMAX, Blender, Zbrush, etc.) and one 2D graphics tool (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) 
• Experience in asset workflows, materials development, lighting development, animations, and basic VFX in Unreal Engine. 
• Understanding of Blueprint scripting in Unreal Engine 
• Understanding C++ scripting in Unreal Engine 

Will be a plus: 

• Advanced understanding of Blueprint scripting in Unreal Engine 
• Advanced understanding C++ scripting in Unreal Engine
