Role Overview

You will support the project team at a remote site by performing welding, fabrication, assembly, installation, and repairs for mobile and heavy equipment.
Reports to: Mechanical Manager

Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)

• Inspect, troubleshoot, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair mobile & heavy equipment
• Perform manual welding and welding repairs using relevant processes including:
  • ARC & GAS welding
  • flame cutting
  • brazing & soldering
• Complete daily equipment inspections and ensure maintenance/repairs are completed
• Order parts and materials required for work scopes
• Support site clean-up and preparation, including rubbish removal
• Complete documentation according to process/protocol to support cost control and budgeting
• Produce quality workmanship aligned with industry and stakeholder expectations
• Read and interpret blueprints/drawings (basic understanding)
• Attend daily Toolbox meetings and support monthly site inspections
• Work safely using safe work practices and follow safe job procedures
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and accidents immediately
• Contribute as a high-performing team member

Required Qualifications

• Journeyperson Welder (Red Seal)
• Minimum 3+ years experience in field construction and/or camp settings
• Ability to work a rotation schedule (FIFO)
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks according to work schedule
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to maintain performance during a 10–12 hour shift
• Comfortable working in a remote camp environment

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)

• Previous experience working in remote camps
• Proficiency in all aspects of welding, fabrication, repair, and replacement
• Standard First Aid, WHMIS Certification
