About Us

We are a stealth-stage fund and tech startup operating at the intersection of alternative markets and quantitative strategy. Backed by experienced operators and growing quickly, we are building the infrastructure to scale a high-performance, data-driven business.

We are a lean team with outsized ambition. Almost everything we do runs on software we built ourselves, and the pace of the business is now set by how good that software is.

The Role

You will own our internal platform. It is what our operations, finance and delivery teams work in every day: the systems that move money, track work, sync communications, and tell us what is actually happening in the business.

One person built most of it. You are taking it over, making it something the company can depend on rather than something one person holds in their head, and then extending it.

This is not a product engineering job with a designer, a product manager and a groomed backlog. You will sit with the people doing the work, find the thing costing them the most hours, and go fix it. Judgment about what to build matters more here than depth in any particular stack.

What You'll Do

Take over what exists. Learn the running systems, document them properly, and get them to a state where they are not dependent on any single person, including you.

Give the business its numbers. Several of the things leadership most needs to see are not currently visible anywhere. You will build the data capture and reporting that changes that, starting from agreed definitions rather than a blank dashboard.

Turn spreadsheets into systems. A lot of important work still lives in shared sheets with no state, no ownership and no history. You will move it into the platform, one workflow at a time.

Find the constraint and remove it. There is far more to build than one person can build. The job is choosing correctly, repeatedly, and being able to explain the choice.

Be the person who says where things stand. Short weekly written updates, honest dates, early warnings when something is going to slip. Leadership should never have to ask.

Work directly with the founder. No layers.

Requirements

  • You have been the engineer an operations team depended on. Ideally you were early at a startup and built the internal systems the company ran on.
  • You are a strong writer. You can explain a technical tradeoff to a non-technical reader in a paragraph, and your status updates are short, specific and on time.
  • You are operations-minded before you are engineering-minded. You would rather ship the boring fix that saves ten hours a week than the elegant one that saves none.
  • You have real range: application development, integrations between third-party tools, data modelling, and enough infrastructure to keep your own work running.
  • You are effective with AI tooling and use it to move at a multiple of normal pace.
  • You are genuinely autonomous and reliable when remote. You set your own priorities, you follow through, and you flag problems before they land on someone else.
  • You handle sensitive data and money-adjacent workflows with discretion and care.

Bonus Points For

  • Having inherited an undocumented system from a departing engineer and made it dependable
  • Operations-heavy businesses: logistics, field services, fintech onboarding, marketplaces, anything with physical or financial workflows
  • Payments, reconciliation, or multi-account financial tooling
  • Familiarity with Notion, Discord, Google Workspace, Airtable, and lightweight project management tools
  • Interest in startups, investing, alternative markets, or behavioral strategy

Benefits

  • Own an entire function from day one, working directly with a high-caliber founder
  • No red tape. You propose an improvement and you ship it
  • Shape how a fast-growing company is built from the ground up
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Fully remote with flexible hours
