About the Role
The Installation Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment, installation, and quality control of Zonar's fleet technology solutions. This position supports customer implementations by performing equipment installations, training customers and third-party installers, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining installation quality standards.
This role serves as both a technical expert and field trainer, helping expand Zonar's installer network while ensuring all installations meet company standards. The ideal candidate has strong experience with vehicle electronics, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and customer-facing technical support

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installations and configuration of Zonar hardware and software solutions on commercial fleet vehicles.
  • Assist in the onboarding, certification, and development of new installation partners and third-party installers.
  • Support the creation and enhancement of installer training programs, documentation, videos, and technical resources.
  • Conduct quality control (QC) reviews and verification of installations performed by internal and third-party installers.
  • Troubleshot hardware, software, firmware, electrical, and system integration issues both remotely and in the field.
  • Provide advanced technical support to customers, installers, Customer Care teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain installation standards, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams during prototype testing and product evaluations.
  • Maintain installation records, documentation, photos, and quality assurance reports.
  • Support the Commercial Vehicle Library by documenting vehicle-specific installation requirements and configurations.
  • Deliver installation training sessions for customers, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Maintain inventory of installation tools, equipment, and related assets.
  • Escalate complex technical issues and customer concerns to appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Ensure all installations adhere to the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Travel extensively to customer locations, installation sites, and training events throughout the U.S. and Canada (Up to 75% travel is required).

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic installation and troubleshooting on commercial fleet vehicles.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics, vehicle maintenance, or related technical fields.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electronics, systems integration, and diagnostic processes.
  • Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes and volt-ohm meters.
  • Knowledge of multiplex wiring systems and vehicle electrical architecture.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience providing customer-facing technical support and training preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, illustrations, or training materials is a plus.
  • Formal electronics training, military technical training, trade school certification, or related education preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: Between $25,00 - $27,50 hourly
  • Compensation Type: Full time- Non-Exempt
