Informatics Project Coordinators provide: (1) support for informatics projects including project management and reporting, and (2) coordination with Maine CDC’s Infectious Disease Epidemiology Informatics team.  Work is performed under administrative direction. 

 

  1. Knowledge, Skills and Certifications

Specific qualifications needed to perform the job including, necessary licenses, knowledge, skills, education, experience, training, and technical skills.

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related fields (Informatics, Biostatistics etc.), and 4 years of relevant experience 
  • Two (2) years relevant work experience and training in data manipulation and visualization software such as Alteryx, Excel, GIS, SAS, SQL, R Tableau, Python, etc.  
  • Communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.  
  • Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 

 

Preferred: 

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Informatics, or related field. 
  • At least two years of relevant work experience 

 

Knowledge of:     

  • Data manipulation and visualization software 
  • Project management 
  • Principles and practices of epidemiology and public health surveillance 
  • Statistics and statistical software 
  • Outbreak response activities 
  • Data collection and management 
  • Infectious diseases, including risk and transmission 
  • Medical terminology 
  • Word processing software, email and internet use, spreadsheets or analysis programs

  1. Duties and Deliverable (Outline of specific job duties)

Specific duties required of the resource, as well as any expected deliverables, including necessary travel expectations.

  • Coordinate and participate in informatics team and project meetings. 
  • Track project details within chosen tracking system. 
  • Ensure staff are meeting necessary timelines. 
  • Identify barriers to progress and work to eliminate them. 
  • Support informatics grant writing and performance measure reporting.  
  • Participate in Data Modernization Initiative efforts. 
  • Participate in and contribute to overall Infectious Disease Epidemiology Informatics Program planning and evaluation activities. 
  • Additional duties as reasonably assigned. 

 

  1. Schedule

Summary of work schedule, including normal working hours, on-call expectations, allowed time off (which is non-billable), ability to work remote.

  • These positions are full-time, with working hours of 8 AM – 5 PM Eastern Time, Monday-Friday. Modified schedules may be required as operationally required by Maine CDC.  Hours worked over 45 are paid on a straight basis (hour for hour compensation) when specifically pre-approved in writing by the Maine CDC manager.   
  • Each resource must conform to the State working schedule (i.e., snow days, holidays etc.), if the State of Maine is working the contractor will be required to work. 
  • May routinely work remote five (5) days per week.  
  • All vacant positions must be approved by the Department prior to posting.  If approved for hire, vacant positions must be posted publicly within seven (7) days of approval for a minimum of 14 days. All rates must be approved by the Maine CDC manager prior to an offer being made to the candidate. 
  • An additional 20 days PTO beyond the minimum (30 days total per year) 

 

 

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) by SSO and under the federal laws relating to the F-1 STEM EAD program, this position is not eligible to support a STEM EAD extension application.
