Job Purpose:
As part of the Solutions Design Group, the Industrial Engineer II will work in coordination with the Sales Team, other Solutions Design team members, and Clients to design creative data driven solutions that exceed customer expectations utilizing both traditional and innovative technologies. The Industrial Engineer II will assist in concept and solution development by transforming clients’ complex datasets into an actionable modeling framework. Through data exploration, they will determine data quality, cleanse data, complete advanced data analytics, develop flexible models, and document assumptions. The Industrial Engineer II may also assist in creating labor models, ROIs, and a multitude of other support documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Own data strategy by identifying data requirements and partnering with clients to source, cleanse, validate and structure large datasets
Perform data analysis, including order profiling, trend analysis, and scenario modeling to uncover insights
With cross functional team, develop data-driven design models for storage, throughput, and capacity planning
Build analytical models to estimate labor requirements, throughput, potential cost savings, and ROI
Translate and document analytical findings into clear design criteria and assumptions for internal team and clients
Support pre-sales efforts by presenting data-driven insights and models in client design reviews discussions
As needed contributor in site visits during the proposal phase with client and pre-sale team to review processes and physical systems or to validate assumptions through observational data collection
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field
2+ Years’ Experience in the material handling industry, data analytics, or supply chain analytics
Proficiency in data analysis tools and Python
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills
Experience working with large datasets, including data cleansing, validation, and transformation
Understanding of supply chain, logistics, and material handling systems, with the ability to apply analytical methods to operational challenges
Ability to communicate complex analytical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to collaborative team environments
Have a customer first mentality to solve challenges
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to travel up to 15% or as needed; willing to work extended hours to support proposal activities
Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities
Working in a stationary position and operating computers for an extended period
Moving or traversing for an extended period
Occasional ascending and descending scaffolding and/or mezzanines
Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels
