About the Team 

This role is a key member of Embark’s People & Culture Division and reports directly into the Chief People Officer.

About the Role

We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to serve as a strategic advisor to the business, partnering with leaders to design and deliver people strategies that enable performance, scalability, and regulatory alignment within a FinTech environment. This role will drive data-informed decision-making across talent, organizational design, and workforce planning, while fostering a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, innovation, and strong governance.



In this role you will be responsible for:


·         Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning people strategies with business objectives to drive performance, growth, and organizational effectiveness 


·         Support end-to-end people programs across talent management, total rewards, performance management, and learning, ensuring alignment to business priorities 


·         Lead end-to-end Talent Acquisition execution, including workforce planning alignment, proactive sourcing, full-cycle recruitment, candidate assessment, offer management, and partnering with leaders to secure high-quality talent in a timely and effective manner


·         Leverage HR data, analytics, and insights to identify trends, inform decision-making, and proactively recommend solutions that enhance workforce performance and engagement 


·         Lead employee engagement initiatives, leveraging survey data and insights to identify risks and opportunities across engagement, retention, performance, and culture, and translate findings into targeted action plans that strengthen team effectiveness and connection


·         Partner with leaders to diagnose organizational needs and implement scalable, high-impact solutions that improve team effectiveness and employee experience 


·         Provide expert guidance and coaching to leaders on employee relations matters, enabling thoughtful, consistent, and compliant decision-making 


·         Collaborate with leaders to strengthen organizational design, workforce planning, and team structures to support evolving business needs 


·         Coach and influence leaders to build high-performing, inclusive teams and role model leadership behaviours aligned with company values 


·         Support the development, interpretation, and application of HR policies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices 


·         Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to modernize people practices and enhance the overall employee lifecycle experience


·         Lead and support People & Culture projects as required



Who we are looking for:


You might be a strong fit if you bring the following experience and capabilities…


•         5+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience in an HRBP or similar role, preferably within FinTech or Financial Services


•         A passion for elevating the employee experience by continuously improving key moments across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through development, engagement, and transition


•         The ability to deliver a high-quality, responsive experience for employees and leaders by providing thoughtful guidance on people programs, policies, benefits, and practices


•         Strong partnership skills, with experience designing and implementing scalable people programs such as leadership development, performance management, and wellbeing initiatives


•         A data-driven mindset, using systems, dashboards, engagement data, and employee feedback to generate insights and support decision-making


•         Strong operational discipline and attention to detail, ensuring HR processes, documentation, and data remain accurate, current, and scalable


•          Hands-on experience managing end-to-end recruitment, including sourcing, screening, assessment, and offer management, with a strong focus on quality, speed, and candidate experience


•         A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency


•         A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and modernize people processes


•         Experience leading and enhancing onboarding and offboarding processes to create seamless, well-coordinated employee experiences


•         The ability to collaborate effectively with payroll and cross-functional stakeholders to manage employee changes, leaves, and unique situations with accuracy and care


•         Experience supporting organizational change by helping leaders communicate strategy, drive adoption, and connect employees to business priorities


•         Experience with HRIS system optimization, Dayforce experience is an asset
