Care Essentials Home Health is looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated HR and Payroll Administrator to join our growing team in San Bernardino, AL. In this vital role, you'll be the backbone of our people operations — ensuring our caregivers and staff are supported, paid accurately, and set up for success. Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees
- Maintain and update employee records, HR databases, and personnel files
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire paperwork and orientations
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance enrollments and changes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and healthcare regulations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs and coordinating interviews
- Prepare HR and payroll reports for management as needed
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in HR administration, payroll processing, or a related role
- Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms preferred)
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements
- Experience in a healthcare or home health setting is a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a people-first attitude
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
