The designer will lead the end-to-end development of home soft goods, including blankets and bedding, from initial concept to production. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design intent is met while managing timelines and technical specifications.

About Us:
Comfrt is one of the fastest-growing direct-to-consumer brands, dedicated to blending mental wellness, inclusivity, and elevated comfort into every piece we create. Our mission goes beyond clothing — we strive to build a community where everyone feels supported and seen.

About the Job:
Comfrt is looking for a highly creative, hands-on Designer to help build and grow our Home business, with a focus on soft goods including blankets, bedding, pillows, sleep accessories, and other comfort-focused products.

You’ll take products from concept through development and production—researching the market, developing product ideas, creating sketches and technical documentation, reviewing samples, and partnering with Product Development, Sourcing, vendors, and design leadership to bring products to life.

This is an opportunity for a designer who enjoys both creative problem-solving and execution and wants meaningful ownership in a fast-growing business. You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable moving quickly as priorities evolve.

You’ll report to the Design Director of Home and play an important role in shaping and executing the creative and product vision for the Home category.

Responsibilities:

Product Design & Development

  • Design and develop Home soft goods including blankets, bedding, pillows, sleep accessories, throws, and emerging comfort categories.
  • Translate concepts, trends, and inspiration into commercially relevant products that reflect the Comfrt brand.
  • Create accurate hand and/or digital sketches, CADs, technical drawings, and production-ready tech packs.
  • Develop and communicate color, print, pattern, material, and construction direction.
  • Maintain accurate product specifications, artwork, materials, and construction details throughout development.
  • Review samples, identify issues, and work with development partners to resolve them efficiently.
  • Manage multiple products and development timelines from concept through production.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Partner closely with the Design Director, Product Development, Technical Design, Sourcing, Merchandising, and vendors throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Clearly communicate design intent and technical requirements to internal teams and external development partners.
  • Incorporate feedback while maintaining the integrity of the product and overall design vision.
  • Support seasonal line reviews, product presentations, and assortment development.
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date development files and product records.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and proactively drive them forward.
  • Identify opportunities, solve problems, and make decisions quickly in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8+ years of product design experience in Home, soft goods, apparel, accessories, or adjacent categories.
  • Strong experience creating tech packs, technical drawings, and production documentation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience working with Product Development, Sourcing, overseas vendors, and factories.
  • Strong understanding of the Home market, competitive landscape, customer, and emerging trends.
  • Strong product design and visual communication skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while partnering closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and shifting priorities with a high level of ownership.

Who You Are:

  • Creative: You bring fresh ideas and have a strong point of view on product, materials, color, and design.
  • Hands-on: You enjoy being involved in every stage of development, from the initial sketch through sample review and production.
  • Entrepreneurial: You see opportunities, take initiative, and help build solutions rather than waiting for direction.
  • Resourceful: You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding practical solutions when there isn’t an established playbook.
  • Fast-moving: You thrive in an environment where priorities can change quickly and great ideas move from concept to market at a rapid pace.
  • Accountable: You take ownership of your work and follow projects through to completion.
  • Detail-oriented: You understand that the details in construction, materials, and specifications can have a major impact on the final product.
  • Collaborative: You communicate clearly and build strong relationships across design, development, sourcing, merchandising, and vendor teams.
  • Product-focused: You care about how a product looks, feels, functions, and performs for the customer.

What Success Looks Like:

  • You independently move assigned products from concept through development and production.
  • You consistently deliver high-quality work while meeting fast-moving timelines.
  • You help expand the Home assortment with commercially relevant, differentiated products that feel distinctly Comfrt.
  • You proactively identify opportunities, anticipate needs, and solve problems before they slow down development.
  • You build strong, productive relationships with cross-functional partners and vendors.
  • You become a trusted creative and product partner to the Design Director of Home.
  • You help increase the speed, scale, and quality of Comfrt’s Home product development as the business grows.

Why Join Comfrt?

  • Be part of a purpose-driven company that’s shaping the future of comfort and mental wellness.
  • Work in a supportive, creative environment where your ideas and growth are valued.
  • Enjoy Comfrt benefits such as generous paid time off, company-covered health insurance, 5% 401k match, and discounts on all Comfrt products!
  • Join a passionate team making an impact on exciting projects, all while enjoying the flexibility and collaborative support of a fully remote environment.
