Opportunity at a Glance
Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Nursing Faculty interested in teaching with our BSN Nursing program online.
You will be teaching students in the role of facilitator, role model, coach and advisor. Incorporating Chamberlain Care philosophy to educate and embolden diverse nursing professionals in a culture where students and colleagues thrive and cultivate extraordinary nursing graduates.
Part-time professors lead asynchronous discussions and teach synchronous live lectures each week, (scheduling AM and PM options for students) and will be available via email, online conferencing or telephone, to provide support and respond to student's enquiries in a timely manner.
We are presently accepting applications in the following areas of course specialization:
NR-302: Health Assessment I
This course, part one of a two-part course, introduces the student to principles and techniques of nursing assessment, focusing on patient history taking, interview and communication techniques and techniques of inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation. The role of the nurse in obtaining comprehensive health assessments, including attributes of physical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural and spiritual functioning
is discussed. Application of assessment findings to clinical decision making is addressed. The laboratory component is designed to promote cognitive and psychomotor skills necessary to assess the integumentary, head and neck, lymphatics, respiratory and cardiovascular systems. Practice of assessment techniques occurs through experiential learning.
NR-304: Health Assessment II
This course, part two of a two-part course, examines the principles and techniques of nursing assessment, focusing on utilization of assessment findings in clinical decision making. Participants learn to identify teaching and learning needs from a comprehensive assessment and health history. Professional responsibilities in conducting a comprehensive assessment and documenting assessment findings are addressed. The laboratory component is designed to continue promotion of the cognitive and psychomotor skills necessary to assess the peripheral vascular, abdominal/gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, neurological and male and female genitourinary systems (including breast). Practice of comprehensive assessment techniques occurs through experiential learning.
Responsibilities
Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
