Role Summary⁣:⁣

The Head of Technology and Security at Send Payments is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining IT operations and advancing our group security posture in a cloud-first environment.⁣

Operating within a fast-moving, 70-person remote fintech, this position is designed for a true player-coach who is energized by executing technical work directly managing AWS infrastructure, Microsoft 365, WAFs, and automated compliance tools.⁣

Inheriting established operational cadences and robust systems, you will refine our existing stack, maintain our ISO 27001 certification, lead SOC 2 Type 2 adoption, and support emerging ISO 42001 AI governance. You will manage a lean team of two (yourself and one direct report you will recruit), leveraging practical AI automation to maximize capability without unnecessary headcount.⁣

Responsibilities⁣:⁣

• Oversee and execute the overarching technology and cyber security strategy to maintain resilient, scalable cloud infrastructure that aligns with Send's commercial goals and AUSTRAC and ASIC regulatory requirements.⁣

• Drive governance maturity as Information Security Management Leader by utilizing our continuous compliance automation platform to maintain ISO 27001 certification, complete SOC 2 Type 2 adoption, and guide emerging ISO 42001 AI governance initiatives.⁣

• Directly handle high-level cloud infrastructure management, active incident response, web application firewall configuration, and third-party vendor risk assessments.⁣

• Recruit, mentor, and work directly alongside one direct report, fostering a culture of technical accountability and engineering excellence in a fully remote environment.⁣

• Integrate practical operational AI agents into daily technology and security workflows to automate routine tasks, streamline operations, and enhance platform resilience.⁣

Skills and Qualifications⁣:⁣

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.⁣

• A Must: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations and security, including proven practitioner experience in a lean, small-team environment.⁣

• Must have: Active industry certifications such as CISM, CISSP, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor to fulfill our ISMS governance requirements.⁣

• Strong hands-on expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure management, Microsoft 365, and continuous compliance platforms like Vanta.⁣

• Deep practical knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks under AUSTRAC and ASIC within the financial services sector.⁣
