Project Summarization:
The Graphic Design Contractor will provide graphic design services to The Contingent on an as-needed, project-by-project basis. Work will include event collateral, such as themed based save the date, invitations, signage and design elements for digital artifacts. Each assignment must be authorized in writing before work begins.
Scope of Work (the “Services”):
Graphic Design Element Creation:
Event collateral: save-the-dates, invitations, page headers for online registration pages.
Event Wayfinding: promotional graphics, program design and layout, signage design, and presentation (slide deck) template.
Impact reports: develop page layout, typography, charts or simple infographics based on provided data and provide final or print ready files.
Create general design templates for recurring events for future use.
Attend an event committee meeting as needed.
Deliverables:
The Graphic Design Contractor will deliver the following outcomes:
Design assets and collateral are completed according to agreed-upon project timelines and within the approved budget.
Final deliverables are provided in the requested formats, including editable source files and print-ready or digital-ready files, as applicable.
Designs align with The Contingent's brand standards, event objectives, and intended audience.
Contractor proactively communicates project status, timelines, and any potential delays or concerns that may impact deliverables.
Contractor seeks feedback and clarification as needed to ensure the final product meets project expectations.
General design templates developed under this agreement are user-friendly, editable, and suitable for future use by The Contingent.
All work products, including source files, templates, artwork, designs, and associated intellectual property created under this agreement, become the property of The Contingent upon payment.
Contractor maintains organized project files and transfers all final files to The Contingent at the conclusion of each project.
Contractor collaborates effectively with The Contingent staff, vendors, and event partners as needed to support successful project outcomes.
Relationship with The Contingent:
Contractor shall control the manner and means of performing the Services. The Contingent's point person, the Senior Director of Generosity & Investment, will review and approve or reject the work either upon completion or at mutually agreeable periodic intervals. The Contingent may request that progress reports be provided by Contractor. The progress report shall be in such form and include such information and data as is reasonably requested by The Contingent. This Scope of Work will take effect once signed and mutually agreeing upon a start date and will remain in effect until December 31, 2027 when the terms may be reviewed and renewed.
This Agreement does not create an employer/employee relationship between The Contingent and Contractor (or any employee of Contractor). Contractor is not entitled to organizational benefits; The Contingent is not liable for taxes, Workers Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, FICA, Social Security, withholding tax, etc. for or on behalf of Contractor (or any employees of Contractor).
Financial Agreement:
Contractor will be a 1099 independent contractor of The Contingent and paid $50/hour for services rendered.
Other Terms:
Contractor should update their general availability to Rena Whittaker, Sr. Director of Generosity & Investment and update for any significant changes, for planning purposes. As a Contractor, there will be no Paid Time Off. However, as a courtesy, Contractor should communicate any periods of unavailability to Rena Whittaker, Sr. Director of Generosity & Investment in advance (or as soon as possible if unplanned).
The parities acknowledge that Contractor is customarily engaged in an independently established business, maintains a separate business location, and performs all or most of the services away from The Contingent’s office. This Agreement does not provide Contractor from holding any form of employment or providing similar or any other services on a contract basis to any other party or entity. Contractor is expressly permitted to offer, advertise, and provide, the same or similar types of series on an employment, contract, or volunteer basis to other parties or entities, subject only to the limitation that Contractor may not use or disclose The Contingent’s Confidential Information in doing so. “Confidential Information” is defined as any information that is proprietary or unique to The Contingent and that is disclosed by The Contingent to Contractor during the term of this Agreement, including the following: trade secret information; client information and data; matters of a technical nature such as processes, devices, techniques, data and formulas, research subjects and results; marketing methods; plans and strategies; information about operations, products, services, financial data, funding or donor information, key personnel, clients, donors, suppliers, and pricing policies; and any information concerning the marketing and other business affairs and methods of The Contingent which is not readily available to the public. “Confidential Information” also includes information of third parties that The Contingent is obligated to protect from by law or contract with such third party.
