The Role: Grants and Contract Specialist - Hampton Roads Region
What You'll Do: You'll provide operational support for the organization's grants and contracts portfolio through funding research, proposal coordination, grant administration, reporting, compliance monitoring, and project management supporting successful implementation of awarded grants.
- Research funding opportunities and maintain the grants calendar.
- Track deadlines, renewals, reporting requirements, and contract deliverables.
- Maintain grant tracking systems and dashboards to monitor applications, reporting deadlines, expenditures, amendments, renewals, deliverables, and closeouts.
- Draft applications and assemble supporting documentation.
- Coordinate reviews, signatures, and submissions.
- Maintain templates and certifications.
- Maintain grant files and contract records.
- Coordinate supporting documentation for monitoring visits, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Monitor reporting schedules, expenditures, and compliance.
- Assist with amendments, renewals, and closeouts.
- Prepare reports and coordinate outcome and financial data.
- Maintain supporting documentation for monitoring and audits.
- Attend funder meetings and technical assistance sessions.
- Provide technical assistance to program staff.
- Assist with presentations and staff training.
- Coordinate grant implementation activities with program, finance, quality assurance, property management, and leadership staff to ensure timely completion of grant deliverables.

What You'll Bring to SupportWorks:
- Associate's degree with related experience or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of grants, contracts, project coordination, or related experience in a nonprofit or government-funded environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, outstanding organizational and project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple competing priorities while consistently meeting critical deadlines. The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and respond promptly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is essential.
- Excellent computer skills, with working knowledge of the primary Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in human services and HMIS a plus.
- The ability to work remotely from a secure, private workspace with reliable high-speed internet/secure Wi-Fi network, plus the ability to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information and participate in virtual meetings free from interruptions.
- Valid VA driver's license and access to reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally and state-wide to attend community-based meetings and trainings.
