Peers and Partners, Inc. is seeking a highly detail-oriented Grant Auditor / Fiduciary Evaluator Support Consultant to provide on-call auditing, grants management, evaluation, and fiduciary oversight support for federally funded programs administered through ACF OHSEPR.
The consultant will support the review and assessment of grant recipient activities, financial documentation, programmatic reporting, and funding utilization to help ensure compliance, accountability, and alignment between expenditures, program outcomes, and approved funding streams. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of federal grants management processes, financial oversight, auditing methodologies, and program evaluation practices.
This is a flexible, as-needed consulting opportunity supporting mission-critical federal human services and emergency preparedness programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews and assessments of grant recipient financial and programmatic activities to support compliance with federal requirements and award conditions.
- Analyze budgets, expenditures, invoices, and supporting documentation to ensure alignment with approved funding streams and program objectives.
- Provide auditing and fiduciary oversight support related to federal grant administration and financial accountability.
- Assist with monitoring recipient performance, identifying risks, and documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Support the evaluation of program outcomes and assess alignment between funded activities and intended deliverables.
- Review financial controls, internal processes, and reporting practices to identify gaps or areas for improvement.
- Prepare clear, concise reports, summaries, and documentation for federal stakeholders.
- Support technical assistance efforts related to grants management, financial compliance, and monitoring activities.
- Collaborate with federal staff, grant recipients, and program stakeholders to support oversight and accountability functions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting federal grants management, auditing, financial oversight, compliance monitoring, or fiduciary support activities.
- Strong understanding of federal grant regulations, compliance requirements, and funding accountability practices.
- Experience reviewing budgets, financial documentation, expenditure tracking, and program performance metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial and programmatic information with strong attention to detail.
- Experience preparing audit findings, monitoring reports, evaluations, or compliance assessments.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting human services, emergency preparedness, disaster response, or public health grant programs.
- Familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and federal grants compliance requirements.
- CPA, CGFM, CFE, PMP, or related certification preferred.
- Experience providing monitoring, evaluation, or fiduciary oversight support for federally funded programs.
