About the assignment

We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) consultant to help our client set up a secure, reliable, and well-organized cloud environment. The goal is to build a strong foundation for future development and growth. The consultant will set up a development environment and an early demo/pre-production environment. The work may also include preparing an initial production environment. All infrastructure must be created and managed using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as Terraform, to make the setup easy to repeat, review, maintain, and expand. The assignment is expected to take around one week. We are looking for someone who can work independently, make good technical decisions, and deliver a working solution within a short time.

 

Responsibilities

• Set up GCP environments for development and demo/pre-production.

• Create a clear organization and project structure in Google Cloud.

• Set up user access and permissions using IAM and least-privilege principles.

• Configure Single Sign-On (SSO) using Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Entra ID.

• Set up basic network and security configurations.

• Use Terraform or similar tools to manage infrastructure as code.

• Make sure the infrastructure is secure, easy to maintain, and ready for future growth.

• Set up cost controls, including budgets, alerts, and usage limits.

• Identify and help avoid common GCP setup mistakes.

• Provide clear technical documentation and recommendations for future improvements.

 

Requirements

Mandatory

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Experience setting up and managing GCP organizations, projects, and resources.

• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as Terraform.

• Good knowledge of IAM, access management, and least-privilege security.

• Experience setting up SSO with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Entra ID.

• Good understanding of GCP networking and security.

• Experience managing GCP costs using budgets, alerts, and quotas.

• Ability to independently design and set up secure cloud environments.

• Ability to write clear technical documentation and provide recommendations.

Nice-to-have

• Experience setting up GCP Landing Zones or similar cloud foundations.

• Experience creating separate development, testing, pre-production, and production environments.

• Knowledge of Google Cloud security best practices.

• Experience automating cloud infrastructure using Terraform.

• Experience integrating Microsoft Entra ID with Google Cloud.

• Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and FinOps.

• Experience writing technical guidelines and architecture documentation.

• Ability to advise clients on cloud architecture, security, and future improvements.
