About the Role
The General Manager of Expat Tax Services is responsible for driving a dynamic, technology driven team that provides complex tax services for US Nationals living abroad. The scope of this role includes business strategy, tax preparation, client experience and support, training, P&L, and business development. The GM will lead a team of approximately 100 associates, including some located in India. This position ensures business objectives and goals are aligned to corporate strategy and drives performance to meet objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads business operations for Expat Tax services focused on individual expats.
- Build the growth strategy and establishes long-range plans to drive business results.
- Influences the use of innovative, technology driven solutions that optimizes the client experience.
- Partners with leadership throughout the organization to ensure alignment and optimization of existing or developing processes, products, etc.
- Manages the P&L for the organization and is responsible for all budget planning and management.
- Provide coaching and frequent, meaningful feedback to staff. Ensures staff development opportunities and progress toward the accomplishment of goals.
- Helps design the overall client experience with our virtual assisted and DIY tax products.
- Partner with IT to establish technology roadmap.
- Partner with Marketing to establish our SEO/SEM go to market strategy.
- Provides support and guidance to international HRB offices who work with expat clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field. MBA preferred.
- Ten (10) years of experience driving and achieving business results.
- Five (5) years of leadership, P&L ownership and operational experience.
- Experience developing strategy and long-term roadmaps.
- Excellent partnership and synergy building skills.
- Strong understanding and experience utilizing technology at a strategic level enhance the user experience.
- Demonstrated strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in objective analysis and decision-making.

Pay Range Information
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
Pay Range
$120,900.00 - $205,500.00/Yr.
