General Liability Defense Attorney – Remote – Texas Admission Required

Kaufman Dolowich, a full-service National Law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas, is actively seeking an attorney to join our growing General Liability Insurance Defense practice group. This positon would be in the premises liability/hospitality practice group which includes defense of human traffiking matters. This position is also fully remote position with admission to the Texas bar required. Candidates must reside in Dallas, Houston, or the surrounding area to attend court appearances, take and defend depositions, and make office appearances as required.

Associates are given the opportunity to take an active role in all phases of litigation, including case strategy, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will be a motivated attorney who is eager to develop litigation skills, assume increasing responsibility, and build a successful long-term practice within a growing national law firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, discovery demands and responses, and other litigation-related documents
• Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic guidance and regular case updates
• Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
• Participate in court appearances, inspections, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation
• Handle a broad range of general liability defense matters, including premises liability, insurance defense, and labor & employment
• Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex litigation matters

Qualifications

• Admission to practice in Texas required
• 4-10+ years of litigation experience, preferably in general liability, premises liability, insurance defense, or labor & employment
• Must reside in or near Dallas or Houston and be available for court appearances, depositions, and occasional office visits.
• JD from an ABA accredited law school with strong academic credentials
• Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment
• Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills
