AI Summary

The AI Engineering Intern supports the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of AI-powered solutions designed to monitor, analyze, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the enterprise. Working under the direction of the VP of Analytics, this role assists with developing intelligent agents that collect and process software usage, operational, and business performance data and combine it with relevant business context to provide visibility into adoption, utilization, and performance trends.

The position contributes to the development of automation tools, reporting capabilities, and monitoring solutions that help stakeholders track software and process adoption, identify trends and anomalies, and support data-driven decision-making. The intern works closely with Analytics, Global Business Services (GBS), and the Tech and Innovation team to support AI initiatives, data integration efforts, and automation projects.

Essential Functions

AI Agent Development

  • Assist with developing, prototyping, testing, and maintaining AI-driven agents designed to parse, correlate, and analyze large volumes of data from multiple sources.

  • Support the implementation and enhancement of agent workflows that automate data processing, monitoring, and reporting activities.

Data Integration & Contextualization

  • Assist with developing and maintaining data pipelines that integrate real-time software consumption data with business and operational context, including usage metrics, performance indicators, and other relevant datasets.

  • Support the collection, validation, transformation, and organization of data used by AI-driven applications and reporting tools.

Predictive Forecasting & Controls

  • Assist with implementing, testing, and refining AI agent logic used to analyze trends, support forecasting activities, generate alerts, and automate routine workflows.

  • Conduct data analysis and validation activities to help ensure the accuracy and reliability of forecasting models, notifications, and automated processes.



Collaborative Engineering

  • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with members of the Tech and Innovation department to support security, scalability, maintainability, and code quality standards.

  • Follow established development practices, testing procedures, and documentation requirements.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Work closely with Analytics and business stakeholders to understand operational processes, performance metrics, reporting requirements, and business challenges.

  • Assist with gathering requirements, documenting business needs, and translating operational objectives into technical development tasks and automation opportunities.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

Experience

  • Experience with programming languages commonly used in AI and machine learning development, such as Python, TypeScript, or similar languages, through coursework, projects, internships, or practical application.

  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGPT), and API integrations.

  • Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, including data parsing, transformation, and analysis.

  • Working knowledge of databases, data management concepts, analytics tools, and software development fundamentals.

  • Coursework, project experience, or demonstrated interest in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or process optimization.

Skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Ability to follow established procedures, technical standards, coding practices, and project requirements.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts, findings, and automation solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience or demonstrated interest in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, KPI reporting, or process optimization.

  • Experience presenting technical findings or analytical insights to cross-functional stakeholders.
