About the Job 

Gears for Breakfast is seeking an experienced Gameplay Designer to join our design department on an unannounced project! In this role, you'll be designing gameplay interactions, gameplay contentstory beats, and dialogue interactions to support an engaging player experience.  
 

You’ll work closely with other disciplines to implement, iterate on, and refine gameplay features This role requires strong collaboration skills, clear communication, and the ability to incorporate feedback from both internal teams and playtesting into practical design solutions.   
 

We’re looking for someone who understands player-focused designa passion for iteration, and strives to deliver engaging gameplay experiences. 

 

About You 

  • 3+ years of Unreal Engine experience, including Unreal Blueprint and Sequencer 
  • Has shipped at minimum 1 commercial title in a design role 
  • Strong appreciation for player feedback with the ability to interpret and respond to playtesting feedback and sentiment 
  • Able to independently identify project weaknesses and challenges, develop solution concepts, and collaboratively brainstorm on those with cross discipline team members 
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to learn and grow as a designer. 
  • Can be an active driving force within a small team to reach desired gameplay and game feel goals 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, able to communicate complex 
    concepts to non-designers 
  • Able to iterate quickly during prototyping 
  • Well-versed in common design concepts such as flow, game loops, game feel, onboarding, meta game progression, gameplay economy, resource management, player anticipation, and game balance
