The Senior Full Stack Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications that enable critical business capabilities across Builders FirstSource. This position participates in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including solution design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support. The role serves as a senior technical contributor, providing architecture guidance, mentoring engineers, promoting engineering best practices, and delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.

Primary technologies include .NET / ASP.NET Core, React, REST APIs, Azure cloud services, SQL Server, and modern DevOps practices, with strategic adoption of Next.js and modern front-end architecture patterns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise-scale web applications and services.
  • Build and maintain full-stack solutions using .NET, ASP.NET Core, React, SQL Server, and Azure cloud technologies.
  • Lead technical design and architectural decisions for complex features and initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, UX Designers, QA Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver business value.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, service integrations, and distributed application components.
  • Create reusable, maintainable, and high-quality front-end components and user experiences.
  • Implement automated testing strategies, code quality standards, and secure coding practices.
  • Perform code reviews and provide technical mentorship to engineers across the team.
  • Identify and resolve performance, reliability, scalability, and security concerns.
  • Contribute to cloud-native application development and modernization initiatives.
  • Participate in CI/CD implementation, deployment automation, and DevOps best practices.
  • Support application monitoring, observability, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve software engineering standards, development processes, and Agile delivery practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, maintainability, and business outcomes.
  • Contribute to the adoption of Next.js and modern front-end architectural approaches as part of the platform roadmap.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. The position provides technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance through influence and expertise.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience developing full-stack applications using C# and .NET technologies.
  • Strong experience with ASP.NET Core and REST API development.
  • Strong experience building modern single-page applications using React.
  • Understanding of Next.js concepts and modern front-end development patterns preferred.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software architecture.
  • Experience implementing design patterns, dependency injection, and scalable application architectures.
  • Strong SQL Server experience including T-SQL development, performance tuning, stored procedures, views, and indexing strategies.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services and cloud-native application development.
  • Experience with source control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and quality assurance practices.
  • Knowledge of application security principles and remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with container technologies, microservices, and distributed systems is preferred.

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company’s active bonus policy for the respective year.
