Job Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated and results-oriented Freelance Recruiter to join our growing network of talent acquisition professionals, operating remotely within Portugal. This is a unique Freelance Recruiter position in Portugal that offers the freedom to manage your own recruitment desk while benefiting from the infrastructure, reputation, and client base of a well-established European consultancy. Key Responsibilities

• Source, screen, and engage high-calibre candidates across various industries using LinkedIn, job boards, and direct search methods
• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from initial candidate outreach through to offer stage and placement confirmation
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both candidates and hiring managers, ensuring an exceptional experience throughout the process
• Collaborate closely with the Mercier Consultancy Group team to understand client requirements and deliver tailored recruitment solutions
• Write compelling, SEO-optimised job advertisements and publish them across relevant platforms to attract top talent
• Conduct structured interviews and candidate assessments to evaluate skills, experience, and cultural fit
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring full compliance with GDPR and recruitment best practices
• Proactively develop your talent pipeline and contribute to business development activities within the Recruitment & Staffing sector

Requirements

• Native or fluent English (spoken and written) — strong English communication skills are essential for this role
• Valid EU passport (mandatory)
• Candidate must be able to follow a 1 day training in Lisbon
• Candidate must be able to invoice
• Previous experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or a related HR/staffing role is highly desirable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
• Self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Comfortable using digital recruitment tools, ATS platforms, and professional networking channels such as LinkedIn
