Freelance Commerce Writer (Temporary)

Paradium AI is seeking a temporary contract Freelance Commerce Writer to contribute to our daily commerce content across our portfolio of brands, including TheStreet, Autoblog, Men’s Journal and more. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating commerce content for a range of lifestyle topics, including home and garden, consumer electronics, men’s and women’s style, sporting goods, pets, automotive accessories, tools and more. Responsibilities will include pitching and writing daily stories to the commerce editors. The ideal candidate has experience writing commerce content in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, specifically with sourcing and writing about compelling deals. 

This is a freelance position with competitive hourly rates commensurate with experience. Our expected hourly pay rate is $25 - $35 per hour. The assignment duration for this position is for 90 days with an ideal start date in the beginning of October 2026.

What You’ll Do:

• Pitch daily to the commerce editorial team
• Write minimum of 4 commerce deal posts a day with the ability to pivot quickly if a more pressing priority arises
• Monitor daily news/deals cycle and flag commerce opportunities
• Work closely with team members on tentpole events like Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday
• Build articles in the CMS cleanly and with commerce best practices in mind

What You’ll Bring:

• Experience writing high-quality commerce content that delivers service and value to readers 
• Extensive experience creating deals content with a track record of driving revenue and audience engagement
• A strong understanding of seasonality, products and product markets and consumer trends.
• Knowledge of digital content best practices, like SEO (specifically E-E-A-T), AP Style, and analytics 
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
• Collaborative and team-oriented
• Ability to write fast, without compromising accuracy, brand integrity, or voice
• A sense of fun, urgency, and a can-do attitude
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism/related field or a portfolio of published work
