Job Duties

This position has the full responsibility to provide forensic services to residents, including preparing and overseeing the preparation of annual review reports as required under § 37.2-910 and the provision of testimony for those reports as requested by the Office of the Attorney General. This position also involves interfacing with the Office of SVP Services, the Office of the Attorney General, the Virginia State Police, and Community Corrections.
This position is designated as a telework position and requires the ability to effectively perform assigned duties while working remotely, while maintaining regular communication and collaboration with partner agencies and program staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology
• Virginia Clinical Psychologist License
• Efficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with giving courtroom testimony required
• Risk assessment experience required
• Excellent written communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of psychopathology and its treatment, models of behavior change and management, the psychotherapeutic process, and models of personality development.
• Knowledge of and experience with a broad range of psychological assessment instruments, particularly as they relate to a forensic setting.
• Experience with actuarial assessment techniques unique to forensic and sex offender populations
• Familiarity with individual differences and with psychological regulatory processes affecting individual and interpersonal functioning.
• Familiarity with relevant ethical and professional standards of practice in an inpatient setting
• Good oral communication skills and an ability to deliver presentations and/or training modules to individuals with varying levels of professional development.
• Ability to assist with program development projects including measuring efficacy of new programming.

• Certification as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider preferred
