Reporting to the Global Financial Controller, you will work closely with the finance leadership team to lead and train a team of four, oversee day-to-day finance operations, improve processes, strengthen controls, and support business performance.

Job Description:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4, fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the procure-to-pay function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing, coding, and reconciliation of financial transactions.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial results.
• Support the team in preparing and managing monthly accruals, ensuring expenses are recognised completely and in the correct period. 
• Review and manage monthly payroll across multiple entities and countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local requirements.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through oversight of journals, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
• Review and approve weekly payment runs, ensuring appropriate controls and segregation of duties
• Manage tax compliance obligations, including GST/VAT, FBT, PAYG/PAYE withholding.
• Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and group reporting under IFRS across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Support external audits and regulatory compliance activities, ensuring adherence to statutory and corporate reporting requirements.
• Support the Global Financial Controller with ad-hoc projects and analysis as assigned. 

Skills & Experience (Required)

• 4-6 years of Big 4 experience in Audit and Assurance
• Degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualification 
• Experience operating across multiple entities and jurisdictions is highly regarded
• Experience using cloud-based accounting software (Xero).
• Prior experience supporting accounting, finance operations, or shared services teams
• Experience with AUS, NZ & UK indirect tax and compliance requirements.
   

It would be extra awesome if you also had...

• Experience implementing or operating NetSuite
• Exposure to high-growth environments

• Prior experience in a scaling SaaS or marketplace business

Working Environment & Requirements (Important)

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Strong day-to-day spoken and written English (you will communicate regularly with internal stakeholders)
• Availability to work full-time hours aligned with Australian business hours (9:00am–5:00pm AEST)
• A reliable internet connection
• Your own PC (Windows-based computer required)
• A quiet, dedicated workspace suitable for focused accounting work.

• You are not comfortable communicating professionally in English on a daily basis
• You cannot consistently work Australian business hours
• You do not have prior accounting or finance experience relevant to this role
• You are seeking additional work on top of your existing
• You require extensive supervision or unstructured work environments
