Nacre is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial operations, while also leading non-dilutive funding acquisition by identifying and applying for grants across our portfolio companies. A core responsibility of this role is implementing modern financial tools and automation to streamline processes across all accounting and reporting workflows.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR) & Accounts Payable (AP)
- Oversee end-to-end AP workflows, including invoice intake, verification, approval routing, and batch payments.
- Manage AR by issuing invoices, tracking collections, following up on overdue accounts, and maintaining healthy cash flow.
- Reconcile bank feeds, merchant processors, and credit card transactions with core ledgers.
Process Automation & Workflow Optimization
- Identify manual bottlenecks in financial administration and implement automated solutions using Google Apps Script, AI tools (e.g., Gemini), and custom workflows for tasks like automated invoice capture and payment processing.
- Leverage advanced Excel/Google Sheets functions (VBA, Power Query, Apps Script) and modern accounting platform tools to automate recurring schedules, data aggregation, and status tracking.
Financial Analysis (FP&A) & Compliance
- Support preliminary financial modeling, budget tracking, and monthly variance analysis.
- Collect and clean raw financial inputs from portfolio companies into standardized reporting templates.
- Assist with tax schedule preparation, tax compliance, and maintaining digital audit trails.
Grant Application & Management
- Source, evaluate, and submit applications for government grants, tax credits, and non-dilutive funding opportunities for portfolio companies.
- Gather required documentation, prepare supporting financial schedules, and maintain structured tracking for compliance and disbursement timelines.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: certified accountant; background in business management or an MBA is an advantage.
- Experience: 1–3 years of professional finance or accounting experience, preferably from a reputable audit firm (top 10).
- Tax Expertise: Direct experience or a foundational background in Tax compliance and schedules - advantage.
- Core Skills: Solid understanding of double-entry accounting, AR/AP operations, and basic FP&A principles.
- Technical & Automation Aptitude: Strong proficiency with advanced spreadsheet automation (Power Query, VBA, Google Apps Script), familiarity with leveraging AI tools for data extraction/workflows, and experience with modern accounting software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills are required for all business communication and documentation.
