We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance Executive to join our growing team.
This role goes beyond day-to-day accounting. You will take ownership of key finance operations, month-end reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting and financial analysis, while working closely with senior management to provide insights that support business decisions.
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate across different functions and markets, contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives, and play an important role in strengthening our finance processes as the business grows.

What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Operations
- Manage daily bank balances, payment listings and cash flow-related activities.
- Process vendor payments, staff claims, refunds and other finance transactions accurately and on time.
- Maintain a full set of accounts and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage inter-company transactions and ensure proper allocation of deferred revenue.
- Work closely with Operations and other internal teams on fee collection, reconciliations and financial matters.
- Support financial planning, cost monitoring and overall business performance.
Month-End, Reporting & Analysis
- Review monthly financial reports prepared by the external accountant to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Perform monthly variance analysis, identify key trends and provide meaningful recommendations.
- Prepare month-end closing schedules for balance sheet items.
- Perform monthly inter-company reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial projections.
- Analyse budget-versus-actual performance and provide actionable insights to management.
Compliance & Statutory Matters
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, controls and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate Malaysia statutory requirements, including Annual General Meetings, Annual Returns, corporate tax filings and other required submissions.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries and relevant regulatory authorities.
- Support annual audits, tax submissions and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Assist with annual budgeting and financial planning exercises.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare and present monthly financial information and insights to senior management.
- Lead monthly financial review discussions, highlighting key variances, trends, risks and recommendations.
- Partner closely with the General Manager and Directors on financial analysis, business planning and strategic decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
- Build strong working relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, consultants and other professional partners.
Projects & Process Improvement
- Take ownership of ad-hoc finance projects, including system implementations and process automation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline finance workflows and improve efficiency.
- Support the adoption and effective use of financial systems such as Xero.
- Provide administrative and cross-functional support where required.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, reporting or a similar finance role.
- Strong hands-on experience managing a full set of accounts.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
- Sound understanding of Malaysia statutory and compliance requirements, including corporate tax, Annual Returns and statutory filings.
- Experience working with external auditors, tax agents and company secretaries.
- Experience with Xero is highly advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets, Docs and Slides.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Regional finance exposure across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and/or Hong Kong would be an added advantage.
