Job Description:

This is a non-union contract position scheduled to work 25 hours per week. Funding of this position is confirmed until March 31, 2027. This is a virtual position, based out of Employment Services Brampton.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Regional Site Manager and/or Assistant Manager, the Facilitator, Mindset Makeover Program, delivers a short-term intervention supporting newcomer women facing employment barriers by strengthening mindset, confidence, and readiness for work. Through group facilitation and individualized coaching, the role leads workshops on growth mindset, resilience, imposter syndrome, and personal branding, while fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.

The Facilitator conducts assessments, develops individualized action plans using guided journaling and motivational interviewing, and provides ongoing coaching and follow-up. The role also coordinates mentorship activities and connects participants to community resources that support employment and life stabilization.

Through this approach, the Facilitator enhances participant self-efficacy and engagement, enabling successful transition into employment services, training, or job opportunities.

Purpose:

The Facilitator delivers the Mindset Makeover (MM) program, supporting newcomer women facing employment and life barriers to build confidence, resilience, and job readiness. The role combines group facilitation, individualized coaching, mentorship coordination, and community engagement to drive measurable participant outcomes.

Key Contribution:

The Facilitator enables clients to progress from initial assessment to job readiness through structured counselling, individualized planning, and targeted skill development. By integrating services, coordinating referrals, and delivering measurable outcomes, the role directly contributes to client employment success and achievement of program performance targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Delivery and Facilitation

  • Delivers a structured 3-week program through virtual group and one-on-one sessions.

  • Facilitates workshops on:

    • Growth mindset and confidence building

    • Overcoming imposter syndrome

    • Resilience and adaptability

    • Personal branding and job search readiness

  • Fosters an inclusive, engaging and psychologically safe learning environment.

  • Encourages active participation, discussion and peer learning

Client Intake, Assessment, and Employment Planning and Coaching

  • Conduct an initial assessment for clients to determine eligibility for Mindset Makeover Program.

  • Conduct comprehensive client intakes using the Common Assessment Tool and Employment Service suitability indicators, potential employer requirements and labour market opportunities.

  • Determine jobseeker eligibility for employment programs and services.

  • Perform structured employability assessments to identify client skills, barriers, and employment goals.

  • Develops individualized action plans using:

  • Guided journaling

  • Motivational interviewing

  • Develop individualized Employment Action Plans aligned with labour market opportunities and client readiness.

  • Monitor client progress and adjust employment plans as required.

Mentorship Coordination

  • Recruits and onboards mentors through outreach

  • Facilitates mentor and participant orientation sessions

  • Matches participants with mentors and monitors engagement

  • Provides ongoing support throughout the mentorship period

Community Outreach and Community Engagement

  • Conducts outreach to promote program participation

  • Builds relationships with community partners and service providers

  • Identifies and connects clients to relevant supports addressing employment and life barriers

  • Coordinates guest speakers and external contributors

Employment Counselling and Job Readiness

  • Provides information to clients on how to research community services and assist them in accessing those resources.

  • Works together with clients to develop a personalized action plan using guided journaling and motivational interviewing techniques.

  • Provides one-on-one employment counselling to support job search strategies, career exploration, and employment readiness.

  • Assists clients with job readiness support including resume development, interview preparation, job search techniques, and job skills training.

  • Supports clients in identifying and addressing barriers to employment through coaching and targeted interventions.

  • Provides labour market information and guidance aligned with current industry trends.

Group Coaching Facilitation and Group Services

  • Prepares and facilitates multi-week workshops focused on growth mindset, confidence building, resilience, adaptability, and personal branding.

  • Engage participants through interactive facilitation, fostering discussion, collaboration, and a supportive learning environment.

  • Offers ongoing guidance, feedback, and support to participants throughout workshop activities

  • Plans and delivers individualized and group coaching sessions on job readiness topics, including job search strategies, interview preparation, job skills training, job search, using online job boards and job searches.

  • Facilitates both single-session and multi-week job readiness coaching sessions focusing on in-person and virtual formats, using online tools to enhance engagement, accessibility, and learning outcomes.

  • Manages all group coaching logistics, including preparation of training spaces, setup of materials and equipment, and room reset following sessions.

  • Tracks and analyzes group coaching session enrollment, attendance, and client feedback to evaluate effectiveness, measure satisfaction, and support continuous improvement.

Service Navigation and Referrals

  • Participates in community outreach activities to identify services and supports addressing client barriers.

  • Refers clients to training programs, education pathways, and community supports based on assessed needs.

  • Supports clients in accessing appropriate financial supports and training opportunities and complete required documentation.

  • Refers clients to other supports provided by COSTI, and to the community as required.

  • Collaborates with internal staff (e.g., Job Developers, Retention Specialist) to ensure client readiness for job matching and placement.

Case Management, Documentation, and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete case notes and service records in accordance with funder requirements.

  • Document all client interactions, progress, Service Plans/ Employment Action Plans and outcomes in required systems (e.g., CaseFLO, FFAI, CaMS, CIS).

  • Ensure compliance with program guidelines, audit requirements, and privacy standards.

Additional Program Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach to promote the Mindset Makeover program among community partners.

  • Recruit and match participants with mentors; provide orientation and support throughout the mentoring period.

  • Arrange guest speakers as needed to support program delivery.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Social Services, Career Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in employment counselling or career advising.

  • Minimum 1-year experience working with women-focused programs supporting immigrant and minority women.

  • Experience with guided journaling, motivational interviewing, and group facilitation techniques

  • Knowledge of solution focused counselling, group dynamics and adult learning principles

  • Familiarity with local community services and supports

  • Certification in facilitation, instructional design or adult education is an asset

  • Life Skills Coaching Certificate is an asset

  • Advanced proficiency in delivering presentations and facilitating workshops.

  • Experience working with diverse client populations, including individuals facing barriers to employment.

  • Strong knowledge of job search strategies, employment programs, and labour market trends.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct assessments, develop employment plans, and facilitate group coaching and training sessions.

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience using case management systems and maintaining accurate documentation.

  • Experience and knowledge of case management and client information systems, including systems such as CaseFLO, FFAI CaMS / EOIS CaMS, CIS.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.

  • Knowledge of virtual collaboration tools including MS Teams and Moodle.

  • Knowledge of online employment tools and web-based resources.

  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and systems.

  • Must be willing to provide itinerant services and work regularly across multiple locations throughout the GTA, based on program and partnership requirements.

  • Required to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Police check completed within the past 6 months.
