Experienced recruiter? Love recruitment but looking for fewer hours and more flexibility?
We're looking for an experienced recruitment professional to join our established recruitment business on a part-time contract basis.
This could be the ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys speaking with people, identifying great candidates and making placements happen, but wants the flexibility to work from home and fit their work around other commitments.
The role will average approximately 10 hours per week, spread across Monday to Friday. You'll have flexibility around when you work during normal business hours, but you must be available to work across all five weekdays.
No commuting, no office politics and no temporary labour hire. Just genuine, permanent recruitment with a supportive, experienced team.
A Little About Us
We're an established recruitment business based in South Brisbane, specialising in permanent recruitment across landscaping, horticulture, construction and a range of other industries.
We recruit for everything from entry-level apprenticeships and skilled tradespeople through to supervisors, project managers and senior management positions.
We're a small, experienced team that values good communication, sound judgement, efficiency and getting things done without unnecessary fuss.
We're looking for someone who shares that approach.
What You'll Be Doing
This is a hands-on recruitment role where you'll be involved in the day-to-day process of finding, assessing and progressing candidates.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing applications and identifying suitable candidates
- Contacting shortlisted applicants and conducting telephone screenings
- Assessing experience, suitability, attitude and cultural fit
- Making informed decisions about which candidates should progress
- Coordinating interviews between candidates and clients
- Following up with candidates and clients throughout the recruitment process
- Keeping clients informed on the progress of their vacancies
- Maintaining accurate candidate records and notes within our Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
You'll be working across a variety of positions, so the ability to switch between roles, understand different requirements and make sound decisions quickly is important.
Requirements
Who We're Looking For
We're not necessarily looking for someone who wants to climb the corporate ladder or manage a recruitment desk full-time.
We're looking for someone who already knows recruitment, enjoys the candidate side of the business and can hit the ground running.
Previous hands-on recruitment experience is essential.
Ideally, you'll be someone who:
- Has worked in a busy recruitment agency or similar recruitment environment
- Is confident conducting candidate interviews and assessments over the phone
- Can quickly identify whether someone is genuinely suitable for a position
- Has excellent communication skills and builds rapport naturally
- Works efficiently, stays organised and pays attention to detail
- Is comfortable using recruitment software and managing multiple vacancies
- Can work independently without needing constant direction
- Has a positive, practical attitude and isn't afraid to pick up the phone
- Enjoys helping people find the right employment opportunities
- Experience recruiting for trades, construction, landscaping or similar industries would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
Above all, we're looking for someone with good judgement, initiative and the ability to get through work efficiently without compromising quality.
Benefits
The Hours & Flexibility
We understand that not everyone wants or needs a full-time position, and this opportunity offers genuine flexibility.
- Approximately 10 hours per week, with some variation depending on recruitment activity
- 100% remote working – work from anywhere in Australia
- Flexible working hours between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday
- Ongoing independent contractor arrangement
- Work with an established recruitment business and supportive team
The important part: While the actual working hours are relatively low, you'll need to be reasonably accessible throughout the working day, Monday to Friday, to respond to candidates, communicate with clients and keep the recruitment process moving.
We're not expecting you to sit at your desk all day. We simply need someone who can manage their time, respond promptly when required and remain engaged with what's happening across their vacancies.
This arrangement would suit an experienced recruiter who enjoys the flexibility of working from home, is comfortable managing their own workload and can balance other commitments while remaining responsive during business hours.
Remuneration
An hourly contract rate will be negotiated based on your experience, skills and what you can bring to the role.
Interested?
If you're an experienced recruiter looking for a flexible, ongoing opportunity where you can put your skills to good use without committing to full-time hours, we'd love to hear from you.
We'd particularly like to hear from recruiters who enjoy the hands-on side of recruitment and take pride in finding the right person for the right job.
