Summary

The Project Manager takes responsibility and accountability for delivering moderate- to high-complexity projects across business and technology teams. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring sound judgment, disciplined planning, and the ability to turn commitments into results. The Project Manager quickly learns the business context and technical dependencies, establishes achievable plans, resolves obstacles, and follows decisions and actions through completion. Success means meeting agreed scope, schedule, quality, budget, and stakeholder commitments while preparing the business to operate and sustain what is delivered. Pharmacy or PBM experience is preferred but not required.

Your role in our mission

  • Own delivery from initiation through operational stabilization. Establish clear scope, measurable success criteria, milestones, responsibilities, and acceptance requirements. Remain accountable for progress and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build achievable plans and maintain reliable forecasts. Partner with business and technical leads to validate estimates, resource capacity, dependencies, and delivery assumptions. Maintain an integrated plan that reflects actual progress and supports timely decisions.
  • Drive commitments through completion. Establish clear owners and due dates, verify progress against deliverables, and address missed commitments promptly. When delivery falls behind, lead a practical recovery plan with accountable owners and measurable actions.
  • Resolve risks, issues, and dependencies early. Assess their impact, engage the right people, and drive mitigation or resolution. Escalate with a clear recommendation, decision needed, and required timing.
  • Lead decisions across functions. Bring Business, Technology, Security, Compliance, Finance, and Operations together to resolve competing priorities, clarify requirements, and make informed trade-offs.
  • Control scope, budget, and change. Assess the delivery and financial impact of proposed changes, secure required approvals, and update plans and commitments. Track spending and forecast remaining costs to identify variances early.
  • Communicate project health clearly and accurately. Provide concise updates grounded in delivery evidence, including milestone confidence, financial outlook, material risks, and decisions required. Make ownership and next steps clear to executives, stakeholders, and delivery teams.
  • Ensure readiness for implementation and handoff. Coordinate testing, business acceptance, training, support readiness, and transition to operations. Confirm that outstanding issues have owners and that agreed completion criteria are met.
  • Improve delivery practices. Apply lessons learned to strengthen planning, execution, governance, and collaboration on subsequent projects.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Seven or more years of project management, program management, or delivery leadership experience managing complex initiatives across business and technology teams.
  • Demonstrated success delivering projects against agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality commitments, including addressing significant obstacles or recovering projects at risk.
  • Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar business processes, systems, and technical dependencies well enough to challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and facilitate informed decisions.
  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated project plans, resource and capacity plans, project budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Practical experience applying Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery methods and adapting governance to project complexity and risk.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, resolve competing priorities, and hold teams accountable for commitments without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate trade-offs and turn ambiguous problems into actionable plans.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication, with experience presenting project health, recommendations, and decision requests to senior leaders.
  • Experience coordinating implementation readiness, business acceptance, and transition to operational support.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in pharmacy, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), healthcare technology, or other regulated environments.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent certification.
