The Executive Director of Business Excellence, CAR-T serves as the strategic backbone of CAR-T Customer Engagement, turning portfolio, market, and performance insights into a clear, actionable go-to-market strategy across indications. This role brings alignment across Oncology and Immunology to support scalable growth and readiness for next-generation CAR-T platforms. By connecting strategy, insights, and execution, it ensures a consistent, data-informed approach to customer engagement. Ultimately, this role enables the organization to grow the CAR-T platform with clarity, precision, and impact.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and lead the CAR-T Customer Engagement go-to-market strategy, bringing a clear, forward-looking vision that aligns with enterprise priorities and growth across Oncology and Immunology.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing thoughtful, data-informed perspectives on market dynamics, competitive shifts, and emerging opportunities.
- Build and evolve a strong insight-to-action engine, ensuring data and analytics translate into clear decisions, field focus, and measurable business impact.
- Drive enterprise-level strategies that strengthen agility, scalability, and readiness for next-generation CAR-T platforms and expanding indications.
- Align priorities across Customer Engagement, General Management, and cross-functional teams, turning strategy into clear, coordinated action across the organization.
- Set a compelling vision for Business Excellence, creating clarity, focus, and shared accountability while empowering teams to deliver meaningful outcomes.
- Enable a high-performing culture by equipping teams with the tools, frameworks, and direction needed to execute with consistency and confidence.
- Define and continuously evolve performance frameworks, including KPIs and measurement approaches, to improve visibility, accountability, and results.
- Integrate customer, market, and competitive insights into cohesive strategies that guide decision-making and strengthen execution across the CAR-T ecosystem.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influencing direction, fostering collaboration, and advancing long-term growth of the CAR-T platform.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required from 4-year college or university.
- 10+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed teams. We also welcome candidates from other complex environments such as medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences services, insurance, consumer health, technology, or B2B sectors, especially where strong field leadership and customer engagement are central to success.
- Deep CAR-T or Oncology / Immunology / Advanced Platform experience, with strong understanding of complex treatment models, referral pathways, capacity dynamics, and evolving site-of-care environments.
- Proven enterprise go-to-market expertise, with the ability to translate strategy into clear execution frameworks and measurable business outcomes.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive meaningful strategic impact.
- Strong analytical capability, including the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights that inform decisions and thoughtfully challenge thinking.
- Technology and data fluency, with experience leveraging advanced analytics, tools, and emerging capabilities to enhance performance and decision-making.
- Highly effective in matrixed environments, with strong communication, stakeholder influence, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate complexity with clarity and focus.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in top-tier consulting and/or complex healthcare environments (e.g., biotech, medical device, diagnostics), with strong understanding of access, reimbursement, and companion diagnostics.
- Familiarity with the Novartis Oncology and/or CAR-T portfolio, with an understanding of the broader CAR-T ecosystem and customer landscape.
Novartis Compensation Summary:
The salary for this position is expected to range between $225,400 and $418,600 per year.
The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
