AI Summary

The Practice Manager is accountable for the direction, delivery, budget, and executive reporting of the Evergreen project portfolio. They serve as the primary link between delivery teams and executive sponsors to ensure projects are completed on scope, time, and budget.

The Role:

The Practice Manager owns the full Evergreen (ESG) project portfolio at Western Computer. This is a senior delivery leadership role. You sit above the Project Managers and Solution Architect and are accountable for the program’s direction, delivery, budget, and executive reporting. You are the single point of accountability between the delivery teams and the executive sponsor.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Direction & Strategy

Set and maintain direction, sequencing, and priorities across Evergreen, Lyra, Pine, Cedar, and all tiger team initiatives.

Translate executive strategy into a program roadmap with clear milestones, dependencies, and success measures.

Own the program charter, scope baseline, and any approved changes.

Resolve cross-project conflicts in priority, resourcing, scope, and timeline.

Delivery Oversight

Drive delivery success across all portfolio projects: on scope, on time, on budget, and to defined quality standards.

Hold Project Managers and the Solution Architect accountable for project-level execution.

Run a regular program cadence: weekly delivery review, monthly portfolio review, and working sessions as needed.

Maintain an integrated program plan that reflects all active projects, dependencies, and critical-path items.

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

Own the consolidated program risk register and issues log. Drive resolution of high-severity items personally.

Identify cross-project dependencies early and manage them actively.

Decide when to escalate to the executive team versus resolve at the program level.

Team Leadership

Provide direct guidance and coaching to Project Managers, the Solution Architect, and tiger team leads.

Set expectations for project management quality, documentation standards, and stakeholder communication.

Build a one-team culture across delivery teams. Reduce silos and standardize practices where it adds value.

Partner with functional managers on resource planning, capacity, and performance feedback.

Budget & Financial Oversight

Own the consolidated Evergreen program budget across all projects and tiger teams.

Approve spend within defined authority limits. Route anything above that limit to the executive sponsor with a recommendation.

Re-forecast the program at least monthly. Flag variance early, not at quarter-end.

Provide monthly financial summaries and quarterly deep-dives to the executive sponsor.

Own vendor performance across the portfolio and hold vendors to the same delivery standards as internal teams.

Executive Reporting & Stakeholder Management

Serve as the executive team’s primary contact for the Evergreen portfolio.

Translate executive priorities into clear direction for delivery teams, and translate delivery realities into executive-friendly updates.

Own the stakeholder communication plan. Represent the program in executive forums, steering committees, and board-level updates.

Pre-brief the executive sponsor before major decision points so decisions are made with full context.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably in ERP delivery or professional services.

Proven track record managing a portfolio of parallel projects with multiple teams and cross-functional dependencies.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP implementations is strongly preferred.

Excellent financial management skills: budget ownership, forecasting, and variance reporting.

Strong executive communication skills. You can translate technical delivery realities into clear business language.

PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience working with and managing vendor relationships.

Bachelor’s degree required.
