About the Opportunity
Our client, a fast-growing national mortgage brokerage operating in a highly entrepreneurial and agent-focused environment, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of its national events strategy.
This is a hands-on role responsible for owning the full event lifecycle - from strategy and budgeting through logistics, vendor management, onsite execution, attendee experience, and post-event reporting.
As a primarily virtual company with team members and agents located across Canada, events play a critical role in strengthening culture, engagement, recruitment, education, recognition, and relationship-building across the organization.
This role requires periodic travel across Canada for conferences, regional events, onsite execution, and partner engagement initiatives.

The Role
The Events Manager will oversee the planning and execution of a wide variety of company events, including:
- National conferences and annual summits
- Provincial and regional networking events
- Training and education sessions
- Executive and VIP gatherings
- Sponsor and lender events
- Virtual town halls and online engagement events
- Recruitment and culture-focused initiatives
The successful candidate will be highly organized, operationally strong, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts independently within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of company events across Canada
- Develop project plans, timelines, agendas, run-of-shows, and execution schedules
- Coordinate all event logistics including venues, catering, accommodation, transportation, audiovisual requirements, signage, registration, and attendee communications
- Manage onsite setup, execution, troubleshooting, and event breakdown
- Ensure all events align with company branding, culture, and business objectives
- Develop contingency plans and proactively resolve issues during live events
Vendor & Budget Management
- Source, negotiate, and manage vendors, venues, hotels, caterers, AV providers, decorators, and entertainment partners
- Manage contracts, deposits, sponsorship deliverables, and payment schedules
- Develop and manage event budgets while ensuring cost-effective execution
- Track expenses and prepare post-event reporting and financial summaries
Stakeholder & Attendee Experience
- Work closely with leadership, marketing, sponsors, speakers, lenders, and external partners
- Coordinate speaker schedules, presentations, travel arrangements, and VIP experiences
- Ensure a polished and engaging attendee experience from registration through post-event follow-up
- Support relationship-building initiatives that strengthen company culture and broker engagement
Communications & Administration
- Coordinate event registration and RSVP management
- Assist with event communications including invitations, reminders, itineraries, and follow-up messaging
- Maintain event calendars, planning documents, vendor databases, and reporting tools
- Track attendance, feedback, and event performance metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve event quality continuously and engagement

Requirements
3-5+ years of experience in event management, conference planning, hospitality operations, or a related field
Experience managing multi-location or national events is considered a strong asset
Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and competing deadlines
Strong budget management and vendor negotiation experience
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and remote-first environment
Professional presence and confidence interacting with executives, sponsors, vendors, and external partners
Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft 365, virtual meeting platforms, registration systems, and project management tools
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the year for events and onsite coordination
Experience within mortgage, real estate, franchise, association, or corporate event environments is considered an asset

- $65,000–$80,000 base salary depending on experience and level of autonomy
