In this role, you'll partner with leaders across multiple countries, navigate complex employee relations matters, influence policy development, and help foster a culture where people can perform at their best.

What You'll Do

Drive Employee Relations Excellence

  • Provide trusted advice and guidance to leaders and employees on employee relations matters.
  • Manage complex ER cases, investigations, disciplinary processes, grievances, and workplace disputes.
  • Facilitate disciplinary hearings and support fair and consistent decision-making.
  • Represent Mukuru at the CCMA, bargaining councils, and other relevant forums when required.

Shape Policies and Best Practices

  • Develop, review, and enhance employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation across the countries in which Mukuru operates.
  • Stay ahead of legislative changes and emerging ER trends, translating insights into practical business solutions.
  • Support new country and corridor expansions by developing compliant ER frameworks.

Partner with Leaders Across the Business

  • Work closely with business leaders, People Business Partners, and Human Capital teams to provide specialist ER support.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend effective resolutions.
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions to managers and employees on ER-related topics.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders on workforce risks and opportunities.

Deliver Meaningful Impact

  • Analyse employee relations metrics and identify trends to improve employee experiences.
  • Lead ER-related projects that support business objectives and growth.
  • Contribute to creating a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture across Mukuru's international footprint.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate Diploma or Honours Degree.
  • LLB degree or related legal qualification is highly advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Employee and Labour Relations.
  • Proven CCMA, Labour Court, and collective bargaining experience.
  • Experience managing disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Experience supporting multiple countries, ideally across Africa and international markets.
  • Project management experience.
  • Exposure to BBBEE implementation and compliance within Southern Africa is advantageous.

Technical Expertise

  • Advanced understanding of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA).
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation across African markets and international jurisdictions.
  • Exceptional investigation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to balance commercial realities with legal and ethical obligations.
