Key duties include championing developer productivity by eliminating SDLC friction and ensuring quality and reliability in a compliance-heavy environment.

Location: Remote from the Philippines
Reporting to Head of Engineering

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead & Grow the Team: Mentor frontend engineers across all levels, drive hiring, conduct 1:1s, and build a diverse, high-performing team.

  • Drive Technical Strategy: Own the frontend architecture and tech radar for Next.js, React, and TypeScript codebases. Lead design reviews and contribute to code and PRs when appropriate.

  • Champion Developer Productivity: Eliminate SDLC friction. Design CI/CD pipelines, automate workflows, integrate DX tooling (Turborepo/Nx), and use DORA metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Ensure Quality & Reliability: Enforce best practices for component design, state management, accessibility, testing, and incident management in a compliance-heavy environment.

  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and DevOps to align on roadmaps, API contracts, and infrastructure. Clearly communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

What You Bring
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years in an engineering management or tech lead role.

  • Deep expertise in React (hooks, context, performance patterns, component architecture).

  • Production experience with Next.js (App Router, SSR/SSG/ISR, API routes, middleware).

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript - including generics, utility types, and strict-mode codebases.

  • Demonstrated experience automating development workflows - CI/CD, code generation, testing infrastructure or release tooling.

  • Solid understanding of frontend performance (Core Web Vitals, bundle optimization, lazy loading).

  • Experience with testing strategies: unit (Jest), integration and E2E (Playwright/Cypress).

Nice to haves
  • Experience with design systems and component library maintenance (Storybook).

  • Familiarity with edge computing patterns and platforms (AWS Lambda, Cloudflare Workers).

  • Background in developer experience (DX) or platform engineering.

  • Exposure to observability tooling (Sentry or Datadog).

  • Experience scaling frontend teams in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.

What's in it for you?
  • The chance to make a tangible impact in a rapidly growing, global company.

  • A culture that rewards ambition, innovation, and collaboration.

  • 28 days paid time off and public holidays.
