About the role
As an Engineering Manager on our team, you will lead a talented team of engineers in building compelling high-quality features for the Turbine platform. You will focus heavily on execution and team mentorship, while ensuring the team delivers on their commitments
What you'll do
- Recruit, manage, motivate and mentor team of engineers
- Lead the engineering team to increase throughput, improve quality, and continuously improve processes
- Coach team members on software development and testing best practices
- Work with architectural teams to ensure sound architectural decisions are made
- Provide performance feedback for the team
- Provides pace setting for the team to drive team performance
- Collaborate with other engineering managers and leaders to identify technical and customer-facing impacts
- Recommend best practices or alternative approaches to solving challenging problems
- Articulate development status and challenges to stakeholders
- Have 1:1s with every team member on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
- Work with all stakeholders to define priorities and roadmap
- Be responsible for the overall success of the team.
- Cultivate Engineering culture and practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Mathematics, or comparable or relevant work experience
- 5+ years of work experience in an engineering role
- 2+ years of engineering or technical leadership experience
- Technical experience in C# or Typescript\Javascript
- Experience in data storage in SQL or document based databases
- Experience working in Agile Environments
- Experience in recruiting, managing, motivating, and mentoring a team of engineers
- Excellent communication, presentation and collaborative problem-solving skills
