About the Role:

We’re hiring an Employee Experience & Internal Events Lead to design and deliver programs, communications, and experiences that strengthen connection, recognition, and culture across HighLevel’s global, remote-first workforce.

You’ll own the employee experience portfolio, including flagship internal events, recognition, gifting, employee campaigns, and culture-building initiatives. You’ll be responsible not just for strong ideas, but for turning those ideas into high-quality execution that feels distinctly HighLevel.

This is a senior, hands-on operator role. You’ll own the portfolio and personally execute meaningful work across strategy, planning, communications, vendor management, budgets, program design, and delivery, while also directing support from specialists, seasonal staff, agencies, and vendors. You should be equally comfortable shaping an initiative and experience concept, writing compelling employee communications, building a detailed event plan, solving an attendee issue onsite, and improving the process before the next cycle.

You’ll work closely with the Chief of Staff, Marketing, Finance, Legal, People Operations, and leaders across the business to create experiences employees want to participate in and remember.

What You'll Do:

Employee Experience

  • Own the Strategy for Employee Programs and Initiatives: Own the strategy for employee Programs and initiatives, recognition, and events aligned with HighLevel’s culture, values, and business priorities.
  • Design Culture Defining Experiences: Create programs and initiatives that strengthen connection, recognition, belonging, and pride across a remote and distributed workforce.
  • Build the Employee Experience Calendar: Own the annual calendar of employee experiences, recognition moments, campaigns, events, and cultural activations.
  • Drive Participation & Community: Develop creative ways to increase employee participation and create momentum around programs before, during, and after launch.
  • Measure What Resonates: Track program participation and feedback, and partner with the org effectiveness team to understand how programs connect to broader engagement results.

Signature Internal Events

  • Deliver Best-in-Class Internal Events: Lead end-to-end strategy and execution for Leadership Kickoff, HighLevel’s 1,700–2,000 person Global Retreat, and other flagship internal employee events.
  • Bring HighLevel’s Culture to Life: Ensure every internal event reflects our culture, brand, and values through the programming, environment, communications, content, and details.
  • Own the Employee Attendee Journey: Design the full attendee journey from the first announcement through travel, onsite participation, and post-event follow-up.
  • Lead Agencies & Vendors: Manage event agencies and partners across venues, production, A/V, travel, hotels, transportation, catering, and other internal event services.
  • Own Event Readiness & Execution: Build detailed plans, manage budgets and risks, establish readiness checkpoints, and lead onsite delivery and escalations for internal events.

Employee Communications & Storytelling

  • Write Employee Communications: Draft clear, compelling communications for events, recognition, employee programs, employee campaigns, and culture initiatives.
  • Build Excitement & Adoption: Create communications that do more than inform; they should generate interest, participation, and emotional connection.
  • Partner on Broader Internal Communications: Work closely with the Chief of Staff on company-wide messaging, executive communications, and channel strategy while owning communications for the programs in your portfolio.
  • Tell the Story of HighLevel’s Culture: Capture and share the moments, employee stories, and outcomes that bring HighLevel’s culture to life.

Social & Community Engagement

  • Leverage Social Channels: Use internal and external social media thoughtfully to amplify employee experiences, recognition, events, and culture in partnership with Marketing and Internal Communications.
  • Create Shareable Moments: Design events and programs with storytelling and social amplification in mind.
  • Activate Employee Voices: Identify opportunities for employees and leaders to authentically share their stories and celebrate the HighLevel community.
  • Stay Current on Engagement Trends: Bring fresh ideas from employee experience, events, social media, and community building into HighLevel’s programs.

  • Build Repeatable Playbooks: Create strong processes, SOPs, run-of-show documents, vendor briefs, and reusable frameworks for every major program.
  • Continuously Improve: Use employee feedback, participation, cost, and operational data to improve programs, vendors, and events each cycle.
  • Use AI & Automation: Apply AI and automation to improve planning, communications, attendee support, reporting, and repetitive workflows.

What You'll Bring:

  • 8+ Years of Relevant Experience: Progressive experience in employee engagement and culture programs, internal events, program management, or a related field, ideally in a high-growth or global organization.
  • Hands-On Operator: You’re comfortable moving between strategy and detailed execution, personally driving critical work while knowing when and how to leverage specialists, seasonal staff, agencies, and vendors.
  • Best-in-Class Internal Event Experience: Proven experience leading complex, multi-day corporate events through agency and vendor partners, with strong instincts for creating experiences that reflect company culture.
  • Employee Experience & Engagement Expertise: A track record of designing programs that strengthen connection, recognition, belonging, participation, and employee pride.
  • Strong Writing & Storytelling: You can write clear, compelling employee and event communications that inform, build excitement, and drive participation.
  • Social & Community Savvy: You understand how to use social media and community-building tactics to amplify employee programs, recognition, and culture in thoughtful, authentic ways.
  • Excellent Program Management: You can manage multiple interconnected workstreams, timelines, dependencies, budgets, risks, and stakeholders without losing momentum.
  • Vendor & Agency Leadership: Experience selecting, briefing, managing, and holding external partners accountable for scope, quality, service, timing, and cost.
  • Creative Judgment: You have strong instincts for what will feel engaging, memorable, and on-brand, while still being practical and scalable.
  • Global Mindset: You design with different countries, cultures, time zones, accessibility needs, and employee populations in mind.
  • Collaborative Influence: You work effectively across Internal Communications, Marketing, Finance, Legal, People Operations, and business leadership without relying on formal authority.
  • Builder Mindset: You’re energized by creating structure, fixing broken processes, and building repeatable programs and playbooks that improve with each cycle.
  • Customer Obsession & Empathy: You notice the details that create friction or delight and consistently design around the employee as your customer.
  • Comfort With Ambiguity: You can take an incomplete idea, create structure around it, make sound decisions, and drive it toward a clear outcome.
  • Availability: Able to overlap with US Eastern hours as needed and travel internationally for flagship internal events.

Why This Role Matters

In a global, remote-first company, the moments that bring people together have to be intentionally designed. Events, recognition, and shared rituals are a meaningful part of how employees connect with HighLevel’s culture.

This role turns that experience into action. You’ll create and execute programs, communications, and best-in-class internal events that feel distinctly HighLevel, while building the systems and playbooks that make them scalable and repeatable.

Your impact will be visible across the employee journey: stronger participation, more memorable moments, clearer communication, better recognition, and programs that help employees feel connected to the company and to each other.
