E-Commerce Subscription & Operations Manager

Our client is looking for an E-Commerce Subscription & Operations Manager to run the backend of a digital-first coffee subscription store. Their roasters are award-winning, and the store sells specialty coffee, craft syrups and artisan teas through a subscription-based dropship model. This role is operational and technical, with no marketing or ad spend.

Responsibilities:

• Configure, monitor and optimize recurring billing, checkout and product setup in Shopify and Recharge.
• Manage subscription workflows: variant rules for grind and size splits, customer account portals, and automated dunning and retry procedures that reduce churn.
• Set up and test recurring products, subscription gift models and custom bundles, such as beverage concentrates and seasonal tea clubs.
• Maintain the website: layout updates, app testing, basic HTML/CSS changes, and fast loading on mobile and desktop.
• Track where subscribers drop off in checkout and keep the store database in good order.
• Keep digital stock accurate across Shopify and dropship suppliers, set replenishment alerts for high-demand offerings, and reconcile stock and tracking errors so subscribers never miss a shipment.

Requirements

• Two or more years of verified hands-on experience configuring Shopify (Advanced) and managing the Recharge Subscriptions ecosystem.
• Prior experience managing backend inventory for dropshipping or fast-moving DTC subscription brands.
• Familiarity with web troubleshooting, app integrations and basic e-commerce database operations.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of subscription rules, including automated dunning and retry logic.
• Fully comfortable working asynchronously in a virtual environment through Slack, Asana or Notion.
