Job DetailsJob Location: Online Instruction - Online, SC 29688Position Type: AdjunctEducation Level: Graduate Degreecollege of health science   The College of Health Science at North Greenville University is accepting applications for an adjunct faculty member to develop and teach Advanced Pharmacology within the Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program. The DMSc is a fully online doctoral program designed for practicing healthcare professionals seeking advanced education in clinical practice, leadership, education, and evidence-based healthcare.   Advanced Pharmacology is a 3 credit hour doctoral course examining contemporary issues and emerging developments in pharmacology, with an emphasis on the evaluation and application of pharmacologic information in clinical practice. Major areas of study include medication optimization, polypharmacy, deprescribing, individualized pharmacotherapy, medication safety, pharmacogenomics, emerging therapies, and critical evaluation of pharmacologic literature. The successful candidate will possess advanced expertise in pharmacology and will be responsible for developing and delivering academically rigorous, clinically relevant course content appropriate for doctoral-level healthcare professionals. The course is delivered fully online through the University's Canvas learning management system.   RESPONSIBILITIES: The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for the development, delivery, and assessment of the Advanced Pharmacology course. Responsibilities include: Design and develop an eight-week, three-credit-hour graduate course in Advanced Pharmacology in collaboration with DMSc program leadership. Create weekly instructional materials, including recorded lectures, presentations, readings, learning activities, and other appropriate educational resources. Develop meaningful assignments and assessments that require students to evaluate, synthesize, and apply contemporary pharmacologic evidence to clinical practice. Provide timely, substantive, and constructive feedback on student assignments and academic work. Maintain regular and meaningful engagement with students throughout the course. Guide students in the critical evaluation and interpretation of pharmacologic literature, including assessment of medication efficacy, safety, clinical relevance, and applicability to patient care.   Physical Requirements   Mobility: Able to move between buildings and attend classes, meetings, and functions across campus. Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and express emotions and thoughts in an honest, collegial, constructive, and prudent manner.   TRAVEL Adjunct faculty in the DMSc program are remote employees and are not required to travel to campus.  WORKING RELATIONSHIPS and SCHEDULE The adjunct faculty member will work closely with and report to the Program Director of the Doctor of Medical Science program within the College of Health Sciences. The Advanced Pharmacology course is delivered fully online in an asynchronous format. Although there are no on-campus teaching requirements, adjunct faculty are expected to maintain consistent availability and communication throughout the course, engage regularly with students, provide timely feedback, and meet all established program and University deadlines. Course development will occur in coordination with DMSc program leadership prior to the course offering. Because pharmacology is a rapidly evolving discipline, the faculty member will also be expected to maintain and update course materials to ensure that instruction reflects contemporary evidence and clinical practice. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or PhD in Pharmacology or a closely related pharmacologic discipline from an appropriately accredited institution. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of pharmacology and contemporary pharmacotherapy. Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate complex pharmacologic information at a level appropriate for doctoral healthcare education. Ability to work effectively in an asynchronous online educational environment. Experience developing or teaching courses in an online educational environment. Experience practicing as a clinical pharmacist or working directly with clinical pharmacotherapy. Experience evaluating and interpreting medical and pharmacologic literature to inform evidence-based clinical practice. Familiarity with Canvas or a comparable learning management system.
