Description of Work

The primary purpose of these four (4) time-limited positions is to support day-to-day operational management for DCDEE’s administration of federally-awarded disaster relief supplemental funds intended to support licensed child care facilities with disaster recovery in areas affected by Tropical Storms Helene and Debby. This position must have working knowledge of the early childhood education system in NC that includes the Division and numerous stakeholders who deliver services to children and families.

The position will interact and collaborate with the Division, internal staff, external stakeholders, community partners and child care operators in the implementation of the federally allowable activities of the supplemental disaster funding award and will require travel. Allowable activities include several categories: construction, major renovation, or alterations; materials, supplies, furnishings, vehicles, and equipment; mental health consultation or services, quality improvement activities; and other activities that build child care supply in impacted areas.

Salary Range: $52,592 - $92,036

Recruitment Range: $52,592 - $72,314

This position is 100% federally funded.

The NC Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) is a division of the NC DHHS. The mission of DCDEE is to ensure the health and safety of children in early childhood education settings, to promote quality child care by implementing evidenced-based standards and to increase access to quality child care to families and children across North Carolina.
