You will ensure all tangibles are delivered and engagement is conducted with operational excellence, organizational alignment, and financial discipline, with ethical scientific principles at the core of all related activities. You will work in close collaboration with the VP of Publications, VP of Strategic Communications and Marketing, as well as the Director, Thriving Earth Exchange, to develop and evolve different pathways to realize the vision for scientific assessment at AGU.   WHAT YOU WILL DO  Coordinate across the AGU enterprise to co-develop a vision and strategy for advancing and implementing scientific assessment. Work in partnership with publications, strategic communications, engagement, and community science activities across the organization. Ensure AGU’s volunteers and committees are appropriately engaged in the development of the scientific assessment portfolio. Define success metrics for meetings performance, including financial outcomes, attendee satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.   WHAT YOU WILL BRING  15+ years with MS/MA; PhD preferred. Senior-level management experience in an organization with volunteer scientists, with significant responsibility for strategy and innovation. Experience developing and managing budgets. Supervisory experience is required. Strategic thinking and ability to independently translate vision and aspirations into executable plans. Record of success identifying, recruiting, developing, coaching, and managing staff as well as effectively engaging and managing volunteer scientists. Professional and effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to exercise the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters, including strategic planning, contracts, budgeting, and personnel matters.
